Pere Ubu - humour me
on I Heard Her Call My Name off White Light/White Heat is pretty special
actually the best solo I ever heard was on a harry connick jr album, a jazz guitarist playing on "it's alright with me", truly faster than humanly possible, never heard anything better than that solo...
yes BB King's one note solos, he can hold a note for a day.
There, and some phaser too - also some nice delay at the end :)
near the flange. I will hunt you down and throw tomatoes.
of the guitar solo from "Rhinoceros" by Smashing Pumpkins.
in 'November Rain' by Guns and Roses
wankery to the extreme. :-p
What about Reckless life and Locomotive (stunning)
its fuggin nice that
Graham Coxon / Billy Corgan / Thurston Moore
Mmmm.... loopy bendy guitary mash.
the one around 3 minutes into "Raw Power"
"The Saddest Day" by Converge. It just screams heartbreak.
Also the one in "Transitions From Persona To Object" by Botch. Groov-eh.
but maybe War Pigs or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Or Marc Ribot's solo in Waits's Jockey Full Of Bourbon.
surfing with the alien or somesuch shite anyway, the only good thing about those G3 tours were that at a particular place and time all the guitar bores were safely contained in one place away from people that couldn't give a fuck about overlapping palm muting arpeggio technique or whatever these sadboy denmark street employee fucktards fantasise about...
something off 'is this it' - that's how you do a solo. make the melodic and part of the song rather than an excuse to show how fast you can make yourself come.
I always liked the transition in Metallica's "The Unforgiven" from the gentle "spiddleiddleiddle" nylon guitar to the "BOWWWWW WOWWWW WADAAAAHHH!" metal solo.
profile pic is saying exactly that.
