tossing her hair about or singing?
you're just going to have to accept that folky/twee/singer-songwritey music is seen as massively marketable by evil mr exec. its the sort of thing that "everybody" loves at the moment, it tends to be fairly inoffensive and some of it is quite catchy.
so either start liking something else, or just accept that a lot of sacred cows will be getting some serious teat tweakage by advertisers
Will probably pay for her next album.
More Cat Power albums = a good thing.
Her music reaching more people is a good thing too. Especially when she's never gonna be a radio playlist artiste, least not til I get to take over the BBC and/or Capital Group.. how else do people think is music meant to reach people nowadays? And by people I dont mean the savvy people here who spend time looking for music, I mean the people who live very normal lives but like to have nice music around, ideally spoon-fed.
Could not have put that better myself!
worst use of a good song used in an advert, surely has to be the Johnny Cash version of Hurt used in a Nike advert! the irony being the people making the shoes probably do hurt after their forced overtime and $1 a day wage
