and there's a feature about how "disappointed" "everyone" is by the new album. Go look.
They'll write it thinking they are being clever, when really its just tired, repetetive lazy journalism that you expect from the NME.
since mid 2004 to Christmas 2005.
If it was bad then, it must be dreadful now.
Still, I half blame the new music that's been sprouting of late. Its been dreadful.
Its not the NME's job to promote drugs or shit music.
Its the New Musical Express, and should take us on a fast trip around new music, good new music, not "Razorlight's new single"
wronger than hitler, so called superman
i just got this
radio was playing Maximo Park when the riot started Gare Du Nord.
Can't be a coincidence...
i love french people
Their lyrics are superbly written, and well observed. Hardly Shite
No tunes? That bollocks as well seeing as every track I have heard has a tune in it
Sense of self importance? I read this comment elsewhere as well. Where does that come from? The band seem like a really lovely bunch of lads who are quite humble with their fame, quite the opposite of bands like Kaiser chiefs and razorlight. There is the definition of self importance.
What was in the nasty piece this week then? I read the NME review last week and laughed it off, they guy who wrote it is obviously a tone deaf idiot
now that IS bad.
but not as bad as you.
you're a Twang fan, so...its not really being written for the same audience as people who like them now is it?
about the twang is just being a normal human being.
cf. The Twant
so clearly the twang's music is for people who like moronic meat and potatoes pub rock.
hooray for the twang, another band to make me feel ashamed of being working class.
before i do them.
All hail the mighty Guardian live reviews column.
Like fuck you do.
"song" on the album then they were bloody lucky to get 6. The album must be shite.
they'll be selling so many copies because of Razorlight features. The majority of 15-18 year olds who aren't chavs or greasy metal losers are into Kooks indie.
They'd be put off by brand new bands appearing on the front, so the NME plays it safe, and prattles on about the adventures of Johnny Borrell.
Its a shame. They used to humour him in 2004, and poke fun at his idiocy. Now they're kissing his willy.
That's making fun of him, n'est pas?! He comes off as a twat in that article.
Not a bad way to be i'd say.
They are non offensive, you can put on the album and no one hates them but no one adores them.
I hate NME's style of writing. So much!
since the new album, they're now my favourite band in the uk.
although the lyrics make me cringe a bit, esp:
'There is a poison in the air, a mix of chemicals and fear'
IT DOESN'T RHYME!!!
Anyway, I'm tempted to get the album, but am worried that there will be more examples of inept half-rhyming.
Plus, I don't like his hat.
What should I do??
do all lyrics have to rhyme?
yeh the hat is crap, i'll agree on that
about the rhyming thing. My main problem with the lyric I quoted is that it just plain stinks, and not at all worth deviating from the rhyming scheme for.
and the way he sings it makes it work.
You look like him. The guy with the silly hat. I forget his name.
Maybe this explains why you defend them so passionately...?
i've ever heard that one
not the last.
What's the explanation Dan'n'Scroobius give for talking to the very publication they dismiss in song? (I'm only going on the cover strapline for this, it's not like I'm going to pick up the thing without protective gloves)
i wouldn't be surprised if they just cobbled together something without talking to either of them, like they used to do with The Darkness when they were massive even though the band refused to do NME interviews.
How predictable. It's a really good album.
Very good review on gigwise:
that everyone here hates the NME, and so use anything as ammunition against it.
I don't agree with the review, but like I said, it's hardly surprising, considering they slated the single.
But it gets boring, i dunno i think a 6 or 7 woulda been fine and i aint got no real problem with that score.
