There is a great album called 'Moondog and suncat suites' by Kenny Graham and his satellites- British afro cuban type jazz group interpreting Moondog music on one side, and self written on the other side- engineered by Joe Meek as well...worthy record
I've got the "Viking of Sixth Avenue" comp and it's brilliant, especially when you can hear ambient traffic noises and stuff like that (or am I imagining it?) And Charlie Parker wanted to work with him! Shame it never happened.
