I really don't like the production on this compared to the first two. Anyone else heard it?
Best review ever!
"It starts off with a lot of electro blips and then it kicks into a massive riff. The song makes you feel slightly uncomfortable like a wall of massive bees is coming in at you."
is horrible, horrible, horrible. The entire album feels laboured and it's pretty clear they're a complete one trick pony of a band. And the vocals on the final track are pretty laughable.
to an illgal rip?
an official promo.
It's probably the only surprising track on the whole record.
I think it smacks of desperation. "Look, we've included vocals! Vocals = progression!"
I guess i like it cos i dig, but not as much as i used to, ctts.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the inclusion of vocals, it's just when I heard that song I laughed out loud. I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of the band though - their guitar parts in particular have always struck me as piss poor and it annoys me that they're valorised as revolutinaries for throwing some rudimentary programming over hopelessly average post-rock.
..."fall of math" is still now excellent. The guitar work fits quite nicely the electronic counterpart. In that sense they did something a bit different compared to their genremates.
Second that already in the follow up I felt a bit tired of the same formula. I listened to the new one once only and agree 100% to the comment on the last track. The rest of the album is a bit hit and miss.
but I'm keen on hearing their new ideas from the comments above especially the tracks incorporating vocals.
I have to say that I dont think either 'Fall of Math' or 'One Time for all Time' are particuarly outstanding records. They are saved by one or two BIG tunes; 'Hole', 'Radio Protector'
I still think their strength is in their live shows. No matter what mediocrity they peddle as records, if they can still cut it live it means I will continue to pay money to watch them play.
it also appears that the album has leaked.
Pretty much this. I've generally regarded them as more or less a one trick pony, but live they are always entertaining, if you ignore their tendency to turn into Rush on occasion.
'european dance' or whatever is the only song ive listened to more than twice. 65dos's releases are hideously overrated. still enjoy them live though.
