Bar Academy Islington, 18/06/2007
93 Feet East, 20/06/2007
but I don't, I should try harder.
i saw them at borderline before and they were good. twin cinema can be a bit too sugary pop too listen to, but they are great live.
Is it nicer than 93? Considering I don't like that venue at all.
i'd say so. it feels a lot more intimate.
hopefully on the 20th I'll already be at Glastonbury so Borderline it is!
any other shows elsewhere?
im intruiged as to why 3 dates though
because the three times I've seen them she hasn't :-(
american dates with them after her current tour ends, so maybe?
though Kathryn Calder is equally lovely
It is the following weekend.
preferably the 19th and 20th?
Though when I saw them last they played Use It and Twin Cinema as their first 2 songs last time I saw them.... talk about not holding anything back!
about the Spanish Techno.
slow decent into alcholism
sound like Semisonic.
Don't deny it.
Jackie Dressed In Cobras, man.
im assuming horrible
borderline has to be the best of those
but the worst beer.
I might go to that one then. do they usually have decent sound there?
ive always hated the way things sound at 93 feet east but borderline has always been pretty good.
no raised stage, very small!
doesnt it just sell carling?
cos that'll be the one with the best sound.
dunno i've seen quiet stuff at the borderline and the sound has been wonderful, but with lots of instruments it might get lost a bit at the borderline. Most of the standing bit is in the middle miles away from the PA on either side I seem to remember, so if you're down the front the sound isnt gonna be great. But then I suppose that's the same at Bar Academy.
All three gigs will be great, just go to the one that's nearest!
consensus before i buy tickets???
i might be in american then actually, will check with the girlfriend...
you might be in an American? Which one?!
*fingers crossed for Danny Glover*
it was jackie onassis
I saw them at The Borderline last time. I'd like to see them on a slightly bigger stage.
to go Borderline. Has a lot of atmosphere. Gets VERY packed and hot though. And smoky.
Borderline and 93 before, without Neko. The Borderline is a must see gig. Looking at the size of the venues, I think Neko will be absent at all of them and the organist will do the singing. No great loss, the 'other' girl is a fantastic stand in. Her side band is pretty good too.
...have bored me SO much live...
saw them with spoon (who were fantastic)
Having seen both I'd say the complete opposite. The New Pornographers were great fun, while Spoon, despite having really good songs, were just a little bit dull.
NP's have nothing to sink my teeth into..
I think I may be at Borderline of 93 Feet East for my BIRTHDAY!
