I've been converted..
"Our music is read with purple flashes" is the LP title..
or, in Germany, it was released as 'We are painter men'... this one is VERY RARE and the original vinyl piece would be worth about £250.
Oasis were clearly very influenced by this band. Better than The Who.
1966 - 1968 - cool.
i dont have much more to say about it than that, hmmmm. I quite want to listen to how does it feel to feel now though
It's just sooo cool.
They are pretty good, but they were definitely a singles band. Making Time is my favourite
The 'our music is red...' thing is a little inaccurate- they never released an album in the UK until that eighties reissue- the german release is the only official album they put out at the time bar a greatest hits which came out in sweden as well.
Wimple Winch are better ;)
yar yar yaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.
hehehe...I'm just being a snob about the Creation cos they were my first step beyond Who/Kinks/Pretty Things into the shiny world of freakbeat, and I'm very pleased with myself for being a walking encyclogeekia of obscure sixties shit.
If you like The Creation, you MUST buy or download the Nuggets Two box set, though. So much great stuff from that era. Making time and 'how does it feel to feel' are both on there. When I was at uni, someone chucked a big lump of mud through my window when I was blasting the creation out of it. Fuckers
You'd love my housemate's collection of music.. You really would... I've been exposed to a lot of rarities since living with him and learning a lot about this freak beat period / mods / psychadelia and so on.
You run a night which features this music, don't ya???
Sort of- more of a gig night, but we just did one, and I did play some of my freakbeat singles afterwards- I'm too scared to take any of the properly valuable ones out of the house, cos as JoeyMahone and theguywithnousername can attest, my djing skills when inebriated are beyond shocking, and involve a lot of needle wrecking action
Not sure I would love your housemates collection...its a weird thing being a record snob. Either someone has a better collection than you, and you hate them, or they have a lesser collection than you, and you pity them ;)
Its a shit scene, and I'm only half joking
only if he has the exact collection as me.
It's like saying 'my housemate has a penis- you'd love him'
Only if it was exactly the same size as mine ;)
But yeah, trust me, you would LOVE his collection.. he has some pretty fucking rare and insanely good pieces. He's a collector...
with grockle. You should def get Nuggets 2. That was how I heard the Creation I think. How Does it Feel to Feel is one of the coolest songs ever.
