pang pang pang****!!
pffff okey thanks....I am officially out of the coldplay closet then..
uff I am still bit shy.....feel like I am almost naked or something....
To have a guilty pleasure as u dont think they are the best band in the world, which generally annoys me bout their fans.
them are snobs, they won´t admit to anything that the public likes....
I think a lot of people find them dull or insipid or just don't like the noises they make. It's not always about snobbery.
...I like shania twain as well by the way..that IS a guilty pleasure..
that isn't, i don't know, eating a swan or shooting hippies or something but is instead listening to an artist that is 'uncool' is more snobbery than not liking Coldplay because they're dull.
they just aren't as good as they're made out to be by the media.
I like some songs and not others, this is not dictated by the media.
I like a few of their tracks, but most of it seems just like wishy-washy cushioning. They just got lucky.
they had a charismatic, photogenic front man, some great songs and they toured a fair bit.
but it's not difficult to see why they got so big.
Except the photogenic front man bit. Though if he's good enough for gwyneth...
I don't feel guilty about liking any music.
some of it I don't
are both brilliant. X&Y less so, but I still think they're ace.
and I love Keane too. I don't like all the Coldplay stuff, I think Keane beat them at their own game. I always find that whenever I go to gigs and bands play new songs, I can hardly ever remember them, but I saw Keane at the Eden Project in August 05, and I could remember a lot of the new stuff they played even when Under The Iron Sea came out over a year later, which has the mark of good songs, I think.
the more 'prog' elements of X&Y - it's certainly their least satisfying album for me
I'm glad no one reacted to this. I don't actually think it by the way.
You've said it...
is forever gone now !
And really enjoyed it.
they put on a very good show
just stop it.
that's it EXACTLY. God you're so perceptive.
in a big warehouse in Auckland. I thought they were great
and they were boring. I still like quite a few songs by them though.
seen them in a warehouse then
...would much rather they were one of the biggest band in the world than the following:
Manic Street Preachers
They def have their moments. But of course not liking a big band is indie rule #37.
Have a couple of genuingly good songs but with the others I genuingly agree with though I like Kaiser Chiefs old stuff at clubs so I would also put them above Coldplay also but all the others im 100% in agreement.
Always mention Radiohead as a defence of not liking big bands.
though they are a bit whiny.
Parachutes is a fucking amazing album.
"In My Place" by Coldplay. Like, I really like it, like. Yes I do.
Sadly they have decided to stay in the 'quite good but derivative' music that your mother and grandmother can like...
A shame because he's got a great voice and they had some great tunes.
is really overrated. People who say it's better than stuff like Don't Panic are just being silly.
Crest of Waves was AROBTTH sort of time I think, Bigger Stronger was pre-Parachutes.
I like Crest of Waves a lot. They have some really good B Sides actually. Only Superstition, See You Soon, Crest of Waves. There's other good ones I think, I haven't listened to Coldplay properly for years.
all the B sides other than the ones I mentioned were actually average at best if I remember rightly. I haven't heard any after Rush of Blood, but if X&Y is anything to go by they're probably not much better.
is their best song for me...
