Anyone else going? Is there extra DJs or something given the late finish?
9.30-10pm Prinzhorn Dance School
10.30-11.45pm LCD Soundsystem
11.45-1am Hot Chip DJ Set
we shall see...
well, i won't cos i'm not going. but you will if you get there earlier
so 90 mins of nothing. Pub it is then.
I can't afford it, and I have plans, but to say I'm tempted is an understatement...
its mot mine y'see
don't hold out on me being able to go alas but i'll let you know asap if i can
the brixton academy show in dec 05 (last time they played london) was a late show - doors were at 8 and i think it also had a 1am curfew.... However there were two support bands (haha, Hot Chip and Art Brut) and Erol Alkan was DJ and this was obviously all annouced in advance...
LCD were onstage at like 11.
tonight is gonna be awesome
i wanna go to this too
I thought you were meetin gme for a drink tho with Sarky.
I was supposed to be but I think I now have to get to Soho in order to sell this ticket. Darn.
damnation and fucking hell. she's left already too.
please refer any spares to me of any kind from now in, as a matter or priority?
funnily enough, Sarky said the same thing :D
I was almost tempted to ditch her then.
Fortunately, am loyal!
But still stuck at work..
BTW, am SKINT so couldn't have come, anyhow.
I AM STILL AT WORK AND CANT LEAVE JUST NOW.
Stunning in fact. I think the guitarist from Hot Chip was playing with them as well.
I wasn't that fussed on Prinzhorn though. It was good in a "we like The Fall" way, but it never really seemed to go anywhere
i am quite excited.
i fucking hate prinzhorn dance school
the guitarist (al) from hot chip is playing with them.
tell me more!
did they play all the good new ones?
all my friends / someone great / get innocuous / nascum / etc
They played every song from the new record except the title track. Opened with Us V Them.
thats not fair. previous set lists showed that they didn't play 3 of my favourites, hence one of the many reasons why i painfully decided i couldn't go last night
should i try and get a ticket for tonight?
Miss the support though. God.
last night sublime... almost went insane went the beat of "Get Innocuous" started....
Someone Great sounded phenomenal live (although, they messed it up bit but it doesnt matter)
absolutely awesome set... i think it was roughly as follows....
Us Vs Them
Time To Get Away
North American Scum
All My Friends
Watch The Tapes
New York, I Love You But You're Bring Me Down
cos there was a song that yeah segued into in leeds and i didn't know if it was a jam or a song?
i think it was the low point of the set by a long way
as good live as i suspect it could have been?
it was pretty good
highlights for me were the explosion in Movement, the harmony vocals in Us V Them, just how the entire floor was jumping around to tribulations (even though i didnt like it being sped up that much) and New York i Love You
also odd semi surprise in seeing two members of Hot Chip in the band
"and those of you, who think we're from England - we're not, except him and him".
but i might be wrong. "all my friends" is basically the same piano note being hit for 7 minutes
the other member of Hot Chip with them? I know Al is playing on this tour.
the "vibe", simply, works.
and gradually got louder and louder
so so jealous, what a setlist - i remember feeling so dejected the first time i saw lcd and they didn't play yeah, but to get yeah, someone great and get innocuous! amazin. still, no beat connection tho
