thats all ive got, your go!
they're the only two i can think of right now.
but they both only released 2 albums.
I would have say Low 5 years ago, but not anymore.
TV on the Radio
Do Make Say Think
The Berg San Nipple
American Analog Set
I do believe i like every song that these artists have recorded. of course, i prefer some of their songs/albums/periods over others but i don't dislike anything they've done - hence they make the list!
but out of the 150 tracks ive heard theres one or two i dont love
do you LIKE them? ;)
actually no, i hate their version of nowhere man.
unravelling is growing on me now a bit, so id say your band too, although as you've written about twenty times less material as Low its slightly less impressive!
thanks - just mentioning us in the same breath as Low is an honour :P
i reckon there are some similarities between your band and Low, if not immeadietly apparent, although i dont think alan sparhawk would use emoticons
all my favourite artists have done something shite at some point
are usually the ones that don't write sensationally good ones either.
isn't it the lousiest thing in the world when you really, really love a band and every single song they've ever written, without exception. And then they bring out a new album and you're like YEAHHHH and you go to buy it when it very first comes out and you get it home and you're almost giddy. And then you play it and it's as if they've decided to branch out or explore something new or entirely dumb themselves down or whatever but either way you haaate it and no amount of persistence ever manages to make it sound any better. And your little, once-adoring heart is BROKEN. CLEAN DOWN THE MIDDLE. And you're left to just mope around forlornly and cradle their early works like newborn babies and question, at great length, what on earth could have gone so wrong.
the above, but then in six months it becomes your favourite album of theirs :-D
i was never so lucky.
Silver Mt Zion
and so on.
Most of my favourite bands havent really made a bad song...
Red House Painters
Have you heard A Collection of Songs?
No band is flawless.
Although I've only heard 1 new song.
theres plenty of artists where i haven't heard a song of theirs i haven't liked. but since i don't know the entire output of many artists i can't say for sure that they haven't made one.
If were counting people where i've got a lot of their music/most of their music then i would say:
- plus theres a lot of artists where i only have one album/a very small percentage of their albums, but love every single song on them
Smog/(Smog)/Bill Callahan so far
Even At The Drive-In recorded some crap early in their careers.
Idlewild (yes even Warnings/Promises)
their earlier stuff is ace
But theres crap there, too.
So they don't count.
Although the fact i've highlighted them as my example shows my hero-worship for them.
David Thomas Broughton
Architechture In Helsinki
Hawk And A Hacksaw
Neutral Milk Hotel
Boards Of Canada
absolutely loads. This isn't LOVE, this is just 'don't like', there are so many artists i can think of that fulfill this. Mmmm, music :)
put a 'don't' before LOVE
there you go
Spiderland I agree on, but...have you heard Tweez?
The only one that springs immediately into mind is Oceansize. I love everything they've done.
i don't like Tweez as much as i like Spiderland, but i wouldn't say i "didn't like" any songs on tweez, more don't <3 them quite as much :)
Les Georges Leningrad
they report to the trees
As this is the only record they ever released. (Blink never sound this good).. You know what i don't think i can think of an band that has never relesed a song that i have not hated. It's like having the perfect girl/boyfriend whos going to remain perfect forever.
the guy who said 'last harbour'. good choice.gsybe have never made a track i didn't like. smog is pretty prolific.exploits of elaine are ahead of theirs. i can always listen to their music
then you've never heard 'have you ever heard of Jandek'
The Cooper Temple Clause, but then I heard the entrity of their new album, so I'm going for Mew, they're the most perfect band I know
have you heard 'bones (song for albert)'?
it's rare i dislike an individual song. i mainly hate entire back catalogues.
House of Love
The Long Blondes
I think Ryan wins since he has about a million records.
trail of dead
jeff buckley [though many of the songs he's performed weren't written by him - nonetheless he's never recorded anything rubbish]
i doubt i've come close to hearing the entirety of nina simone's recorded material, but i've heard a fair bit and there's not a dud in there.
I've only heard Citrus by Asobi Seksu but going by that I'd definately agree. Excellent stuff.
i love trail of dead. i love them. i will defend them to the death. the new material is good. the old material is better. the even older material varies and is in some cases the best, in other cases so-so. they have never recorded ANYTHING i dislike. they are tremendous, admirable and irreplaceable. i love them.
all 10 of the songs they wrote
I think that Kirk fella is magic!
