off to see him tonight at Bush Hall, reckon he might throw in a Suede song or 2?
because the solo album is horrendous.
and i liked A New Morning.
we shall see. free tickets anyhoo, so not too bothered
i've yet to actually listen to it.
its BAD. recycled melodies, crappo playing, all the lyrics go like this:
i'm feeling rather thin
you're a needle in my skin
you're like glitter on a page
i'm in a sad sad lonely rage
give me some of your heroine
i'm a lonely full up bin
on the concrete street?
you're a feather boa wearing man of tin
since Dog Man Star have gone like that.
but at least a few of those had good music. its turning into a bit of a joke (well it did a while ago but i seem to have been very slow to accept it).
i preferred the auteurs
Are you taking with you some of those little cyanide pills they give astronauts in case they get stuck in space or anything bad happens?
..and I hope he does play some suede stuff. I'd love that.
I like the new album, I think it's really good.
sorry to go against popular opiniona and all..
YOU LIKE ME YOU REALLY LIKE ME!
really quite healthy these days, though. Which is nice.
Its very A New Morning with lots of acoustic/piano type balladry. Love Is Dead, along with Scorpio Rising are probably the best songs on it. One of the things that annoys me about the album is the rather clipped single style(he's adopted this mostly since ANM, maybe its to do with his inability to hit the big notes these days?Who knows) and the rather earnest subject matter, there's nothing wrong with a personal solo project per say, but he does rather repetitively hammer the point home(ie these are my thoughts, this is what I've been through ect ect)
to check this new album out although I do expect it to be as enjoyable as a small piece of toilet paper left behind in a hairy arse crack after a particularly messy poo.
i think its a brilliant album, far surpasses the likes of Jarvis' solo offerings this year.
it just isnt fashionable to like brett anderson.
which is good, all the more tickets for me.
filmstar, and some others.
and I think love is dead is an awesome song, not sold on scorpio rising yet, and they're the only two that I've heard.
