who is going btw???!!!!
but i am going alone :(
can i tag along with you? or whoever posts below?
bought the one ticket, and no one i know is going now. that i know of. so... i may do :)
with a pretty big group as well. 10-15 in total i think?
its the saddle creek thing at barfly. wooop!
Alexander Tucker (www.myspace.com/alexanderdtucker) is supporting
and am really looking forward to it.
Can't wait to hear the new material live.
and my friends
i'll also be solo-gigging. pm me your number sarah!
does anyone know/can find out what time they're on?
i have to watch a film beforehand and i wouldn't mind avoiding alexander tucker either...
you may request a personal audience with me if you desire. I charge by the minute for small talks and chit-chats.
srsly tho - looking forward to this! last time i saw EITS was supporting Four Tet, and the crowd weren't all into it really, so hopefully this will be a better atmosphere :D
everyone loved eits then were a bit bored by watching four tet.
i saw this tour in reading... took 10+ friends to this too. Most of them (and audience in general) liked EitS, but Four Tet didn't go over very well with ANYONE. over 2/3rds of the people had left by the time he had finished - ykes!!
but there were also some electronica, close-minded people that were visibly (and audibly) unimpressed
unimpressed with Four Tet? Yeah.. I was too - he was absolute rubbish! I stayed till the end mind, but only because i lived 10 mins away...
That was 6th or 7th time I'd seen him and each time he'd become worse. Aphex Twin on a bad trip is how I described him.
(I'm a fan and just being honest...)
but i thought he was great!
@ approx. 6? 7?
is KFC day !!!
and am bringing the old Camden Palace sign with me
I will keep a look out for you.
EITS show last night. Despite a couple of minor technical hitches, and an annoying last minute change of venue. Music was achingly beautiful. Post-Rock, such a simple concept, but when done well the whole is so much greater than the sum of the parts. Amazing crowd reaction also.
I wanted to see them but it was sold-out à la Maroquinerie since a few days...
If you wear it, I'll give you a high-5 if I see you. Seriously.
what time are eits on?
that's so nice of you!
Alex Tucker 8.30 – 9.15
Explosions – 9.40– 10.45
so helpful :)
I was starting to have a little panic.
Anyone know someone that needs a ticket for this?
in fact i'm going to time it so i arrive at exactly 9.16.
to get back to my free bar :D
That was rather good wasn't it!
I thought the sound was really great too - crystal clear!
thumbs up all round
have to say it went downhill from the beginning - although that's only because First Breath was FUCKING INCREDIBLE and nothing could top it :D
Greet Death sounded really great... I'm a sucker for anythiong on "Those That Tell The Truth..."
but i had a constant tingle down my back for about 3 minutes during First Breath, which has to be some kind of record!
I thought the opener was probably their best song. Memorial was pretty awesome at the end as well.
Not the best performance I've seen by them but still very good.
It took a while for me to get into it but I thought his layered sound was pretty interesting in places.
I think if he played for any longer I would have disappeared and gotten myself a beer.
except there were waaaaaaay too many people talking, and this annoying bitch was dancing really annoyingly in front of me so i could only see when she bopped to the left. then we moved, and it was better. :)
too many people talking. why go to an eits gig if you're just going to treat it like background music and chat all the way through?
i found it all a bit too distracting to get into the music properly but i guess that's my fault. i'd like to see them again but only in a smaller venue and i don't think that's likely to happen.
I remember seeing them at the Barfly in 2004 and it was utterly silent.
that's why we kept on having to move. grrr...
it was quite funny watching people trying to dance to eits as well.
The Frist Moment We Were Alone?
I think thats what it's called.
played it right near the end, it was superb
is my favourite EITS song.
Their rendition of it was good but not amazing.
It should always be their set closer, IMHO
at the Asotria it will be
and the most exciting part of the night for me was when four tet stood next to me (briefly). :D
and has nice teeth.
but I hear you had the pleasure of Clive... hope you had many free beverages!!!!!
just not you! rubs
