i liked Biffy Clyro from the first time I saw them just after 27 was released as a single. Back then everyone in the press hated them for the very reason you're talking about. Then they released two of the best British rock albums of modern times in Vertigo of Bliss and Infinity Land, and the press got behind them firstly because of this, but secondly, and more inmportantly they had picked up so many genuine music fans that overlooked the stupid press laying into them, they almost couldnt ignore them. Right now I would say they are probably the best rock band in the UK. You are just a bit closed minded, or, more likely, you haven't actually listened to them very much. OK, if you genuinely don't like them then fine, but there are so many worse bands you could pick on to have a public go at than Biffy Clyro!
If you could name me five similar but better British bands around right now I would be very surprised!
N.B. I havent actually heard any of the new stuff, so I hope its not really shit and I look silly.
playing over the PA at the Purple Turtle, Dan...
And I thouroughly agree. People slagging them off as "sub-Feeder" obviously haven't listened to those two albums. Writing off the band that wrote "There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake" as being American pop-grunge rip-offs is fairly ridiculous as they clearly have about ten times as much invention and balls than most American post-hardcore bands currently going.
a mate
told me about these the other day, the first 4 regular singles went for about a total of £100 on ebay... might sell mine... got £72 for the Kids EP!
I've got it somewhere I think
and it doesn't mean much to me, so would be happy to sell it. Think it's at my parents house though.
thanks guys
but i just wanted 'hope for an angel', and not for £72 + ! I'm sorted now.
XD
BEND OVER (HEY!) BEND OVER (HEY!) BEND OVER (HEY!)

I think it every time I listen to 57!
