where to start?
end of thread
- just to be contrary and because it's the best
confused with wrong.
Just think - if you start with Lifted, you still have Fevers & Mirrors to look forward to.
is kind of the "easiest" (though it's all ace and not exactly difficult)
fevers and mirrors is the bestest.
or I'm Wide Awake
and a Bright Eyes obsessed friend got my Lifted.
I think they're both brilliant though I still don't think he's a nice person.
I'm Wide Awake... = catchy, great and easy to get into
Lifted = better but much harder to get into as there's a lot of oddness.
I haven't really heard any others but will probably stick to these for a while.
Fevers and Mirrors has that really annoying interview half way through.
is the key to understanding bright eyes
or Fevers and Mirrors.
Definately not I'm Wide Awake, I wouldn't say it's representative of him, it's too straightforward.
is the catchiest one, but everything 'fevers and mirrors' onwards is really good i think. including digital ash, which seems to get a harshing round here.
if i remember i'll bring it up on friday :)
no one has even mentioned the best album...letting off the happiness!!??? june on the west coast, if winter ends, pull my hair ... some of the best songs he has ever written
It's alright, but come on. Honestly
as are all of his albums bar digital ash, which we all know is not a bright eyes album. As its a heap of shit.
better than Letting Off The Happiness
I am buying your record player tomorrow and I don't want to have to smash it over your head.
is ten times better than Letting OFf The Happiness.
By my fists.
so many amazing moments
"and I scccreeeeeeeeeeam for the sunlight..."
"This TV is old, the color is fucked, do you see the difference in the shades?
But the green is still close to green, my love And I believe we are the same"
"Here, where the carpet is cool and soft Underneath the clock I feel my weary heart is put to restYou gather around your friends The connection that you feel when the night has not yet died
You are new with a promise of a love You will probably never find"
it also features members of of montreal so double points
(which I'm not)
but I'm certainly not gravely mistaken
speaks more to me. That stuff was kind of teen poetry, which probably would appeal to me more if I was 17 or something
and i'm wide awake.
if i'm feeling nice, i may make you a compilation.
I think Digital Ash is far superior.
so have a certain reputation for erring on the side of wrong.
who doesn't like Lifted.
I like Stupid Computer! too. :D
qualified to talk on Bright Eyes, but I'm in the same position at Theo, and I agree with him
(/world falls off axis)
I've never been that keen on Fevers, I still love it because it is a Bright Eyes album and that means that it is really good, but it's a considerable way down my personal list.
split EPs piss all over his actual albums.
*goes off to claim Tim Kasher cuddly toy*
"Look, you can pull his heart out!"
