The good old emo...

tecumseh78 [Edit] [Delete] 30 replies 07:39, 19 February '07

I mean bands of the past like Texas is The Reason, Mineral, Appleseed Cast (well they are still going). What happened to it? Nowadays emo is just fancy clothes and nice haircuts... I lost every hope till found this lovely scottish band, Orko, and their good album "Creating short fiction".
Has anyone heard it? Do you know any other similar band?

  • Orko are indeed great

Try and find the Days Of Worth album. They only released one and split up. That's a great album.

      • Ahh, fair enough.

        That's a shame, I liked them. Although I don't think I've listened to them since like 2002.

  • Do bands like Braid and American Football

    count as like old emo?

I always really thought of it as The Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate, kinda Saves The Day as well.

        • actually...

the whole thread started because deepelm has a massive sale out now. U choose 10 cds and u pay only 35 quids, shipping included. Not bad at all...
But still there's lack of the old school nowadays...

          tecumseh78 @Gamblor | 19 Feb '07, 23:47 | X
        • I've got their full length...

out just now and honestly what a great disappointment. All the raw energy vanished for a more polished sound. And thinking that Rocksound gave them 8/10...
Check instead their side project, Niccokick, much better..
