I think it's quite limp and underwhelming.
Has its moments though, like.
Some philosophies fuel a belief in the self,
constructed to keep one's goods on one's own shelf.
Built well you're a strong letter I,
with the feet on the ground and the head to the sky.
Now and then you can bend,
it's okay to lean over my way.
You fear that you can't do it all,
and you're right.
Even diligent day takes relief every day
from its work making light from the night.
And when you're holding me
we make a pair of parentheses.
There's plenty space to encase
whatever weird way my mind goes,
I know I’ll be safe in these arms.
If something in the deli aisle makes you cry
you know I’ll put my arm around you
and I’ll walk you outside,
through the sliding doors,
why would I mind?
You're not a baby if you feel the world.
All of the babies can feel the world. That's why they cry.
this is no time for quoting lyrics.
i'm listening now, it seems alright, not especially poppy. i think i like book and paper center.
on the cigarette in tea situation please?
and rolled another cigarette.
Paper Television was one of my favourite records from last year.
lots and lots.
expect a DiScover about them soon ahead of their london show.
one of the lushest indie-pop records that i missed out on at first but 'parentheses' and 'true affection' are soooperb!
Not heard this yet.
LISTEN TO IT NOW IT'S GREAT!
its very good, especially the first two songs and the last two
and like 'parentheses' and 'true affection.' is the rest of the album as good ?
Jona's production is wonderful and ace throughout whil Khaela's fey indie voice and sweet clever lyrics juxtapose nicely with the more beat focused tracks.
'fey indie voice' that I don't like. This album does very little for me. I'm still considering going to the London show though.
But I really like it, and I find it kinda sweat and endearing when she's almost overwhelmed by the music.
The live show is basically just her singing and dancing along to a backing track, so if your not a fan of her voice it might be one to miss../
I think I will. I do like Parentheses though, I just can't cope with a whole album. I'll give it a listen again soon.
early saturday afternoon kinda album.
