Serpent Sky by JJ72. Your turn.
Me or razorlight?
To be fair the title of the thread is great songs by shit bands. I thought my post fulfilled that remit
by a shit band
Thanks for the positive input, well done
I like Golden Touch as well. So much so that I developed an urge to buy the album. That quicky abated once I heard Stumble and Fall though. Ugh. Lucky escape.
Stumble and Fall is their only song approaching decency.
Love punch by the Chalets.
I think America is one of their better songs as well. However on further research I think I'm getting Stumble and Fall confused with Vice which has semi-similar lyrics ("sometimes I run sometimes I fall" or something).
Up All Night after loving Golden Touch. I still love that song but I got bored with the rest of the album after 2 listens or so.
about something that has absolutely no redeeming features?
for liking a song you don't like is a bit...um
by Paul Macartney
Maybe I'm Amazed...
they were with wings - who had lots of ace tracks
Temporary Secretary is off Macartney II which is just him on his todd with a 16-track
You're my fact-checkin' cuz.
by Status Quo
'Whatever You Want'!
for me every time
you can throw in adams song as well.
I woudn't say that was there best song but personal opinions and all.
by Blink 182
but I used to like 'Santa Cruz' by The Thrills.
the other one
crashing is their bestest song
God, I loved that song...and their other singles...
Leave them alone!
just average. Hence the title of the thread.
It could've been one, it could've been t'over, or a compromise between the two
are wrecked by that cunt in the background yelping like a stupid fucking dog
JJ72 - Formulae
Razorlight - Rip It Up
Lostprophets - Last Train Home
The Knife - Like A Pen
Maximo Park - Apply Some Pressure
N.E.R.D - She Wants To Move
The Knife and N.E.R.D. and Maximo Park are all really good?
and YCNI:M are at least slightly above average
only good song
"Maybe" by Emma Bunton
"Fill My Little World" by the Feeling
That good one the Sterephonics did a couple of years back that got to number one but I've forgotten it's name
"Don't Go Back to Dalston" by Razorlight
"The Rat" by the Walkmen
"Wires" by Athlete
"9 Crimes" by Damien Rice
"Walkaway" by Cast
Greatest Stereophonics track - fact
That's the one I meant.
bartender and the thief! etc.
The Walkman are amazing. If you like that song you must at least like Little House Of Savages.
I hate myself for liking any Killer related output but they're abit ace. Oh and their Crimbo single wasn't entirely bad either.
They were really boring and the sound was messy so I didn't check out anything else. That said, The Rat sounded pretty bad that day so maybe it was the sound and they're better than I think.
by the libertines
and the bastards didn't even put in on an album
I'm not a fan of theirs but they do have a few good songs.
it's the only song i like by them.
Natasha - Rufus Wainwright
Munich - Editors
For Somebody Else - My Computer
Don't Just Do Something - Spiritualised
but spiritualized are not average/shit. and that isn't one of their best songs.
in my humble opinion
Spiritualized have many great songs.
a lot of bands that are well-regarded i think are gash or at least average. (actually, spiritualised is a bit harsh, they're better than average but not GREAT)
e.g. the smiths (agh), cursive (fuck off) etc.
everything else they did was SHIT I TELL YOU!
waterfall by stone roses
oh and soon by MBV even though it's three minutes too long
apart from those last 3 choices
I'd go with Everlong
Cute Without The E by Taking Back Sunday
This Years Most Open Heartbreak by FFAF
the new Nelly Furtado one
Hold My Finger- SikTh
11th Street- Open Hand
are fucking amazing.
and the clash aren't half bad either
another girl, another planet - the only ones
...as an extreme in terms of song goodness/band shitness equations.
Burn this disco down, man.
Shed Seven have about eighteen better songs than that :)
and raise you Chasing Rainbows
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
So Here We Are - Bloc Party
Wave of Mutilation - Pixies
Pictures of Matchstick Men - Status Quo
Starlight - Muse
Lithium - Nirvana
Paradise City - Guns n Roses
They range from crap to rrrrrrrrrrreally awful.
Fuck the rest of their stuff.
one good album
One ACE song.
Loads of snore...
and they're not shit
They bore me.
Razorlight - Stumble and fall
For the dead - Gene
Spice up your life - Spice girls
My Sharona - The Knack
Everybody's gotta learn sometime - The Korgis
Put yourself in my place - Sunshine Underground
The logical song - Scooter
Young Folks - Peter, Bjorn & John
by Glen Campbell. I think this gets the highest great song / crap act ratio
Young Folks is brilliant, but the whole album's awesome too.
'aidle vice' (sp) from the sound of music count?
bloody good song, y know.
It sank. Y'bastard.
I offer up don't look back into the sun.
the faint - i disappear
the hives - main offender
killers - mr. brightside
the faint are extremely good!
i disappear is the only one i've heard that i like.
which album(s) have you heard?
good songs =
worked up so sexual
Sourthern Belles in London Sing
though it's essentially a libertines song. who i personally love to bits. and the original is so so so so so much better than the babyshambles version
they weren't particuarly shit but anything they've done in comparison with that tune most certainly is.
and Finch - Grey Matter. Decent songs by not-so-decent bands.
The Feeling - Fill My Little World
Sense Field - Save Yourself
Creed - Truly awful band but I can't help but like My Sacrifice/Higher
Anything Pete Doherty related - For Lovers
The Crimea - Lottery Winners On Acid
The Dead 60's - Riot Radio
Kate Nash - Caroline's A Victim
