I think mine is Tender. Yep
Also, is it pretty much the norm for people to dislike Think Tank? Because I really don't
Death of the party
Theres no other way
This is a low
Trouble in the message centre
and some others.
That would possibly challenge Tender for me
live version of TNOW is awesome.
This makes me feel glum
if it ever made it onto an album. Possibly a bootleg.
I taped a concert of theirs that was on Radio 1 during Euro 96, that's how I heard it. It's basically a punked up version.
on a CD.
I lost my tape of it years ago :(
i'm afraid. i have a blur bootleg from '95, but there's no TNOW on there. sorry :'(
I can't separate the two in terms of brilliance.
I like Think Tank.
is the only Blur album I've listened to properly (apart from the best of). I like it.
Battery In Your leg
You're So Great
Look Inside America
Clover Over Dover
Think Tank is one of my favourite albums ever. I think it's a bit of a myth that everyone dislikes it, although it seems lots of people do. I guess it's quite dissimilar to their other stuff innit.
as id MOR
'...Educated the expensive way
He knows his claret from his beaujolais
I think he’d like to have been Ronnie Kray...'
that this is a joke.
Why do you always question me? I honestly like it. Heck I even like Parklife. What are you gonna do about it?
Sorry. I can't stand it, though, and find it hard to believe that it would be anyone's favourite Blur song. I suppose it takes all sorts.
plus beetlebum,all else is shite
the other ones people have said are ACE:
'specially end of a century and popscene
girls and boys.
Top five is probably:
This Is A Low
End of a Century
There's No Other Way
and Beetlebum, although half the songs on "Blur" could make it in there on any given day.
Or Coffee and TV. Or DAMMIT THIS IS TOO HARD
Alright. Coffee and TV. Ask me in half an hour and I'm sure the answer will have changed, though.
is a bit so-so in my opinion.
If Coffee and TV is so-so we should all just give up on life and go home.
I just thought of a load of others I could choose.
I'm edging more towards This Is A Low now.
i'll join the calls for popscene.
close behind are beetlebum, girls & boys, tender and the crouch end broadway mix of on your own.
for Yuko and Hiro, and I also love Essex Dogs- scared the pants of me when I was 12, mind...
+10 indie points.
Have you heard Cornelius' remix of "Tender"? It's brilliant.
don't think so, but i shall check it out, anything cornelius touches is gold.
My favourite album of theirs is the self-titled.
But I don't believe Think Tank is really a Blur album, apart from Battery In Your Leg (which is just awesome...) no matter how good it is, it didn't have Graham, so it's not Blur (feel free to logically disagree).
My fave songs are:
You're So Great
Battery In Your Leg
Girls & Boys
Music Is My Radar
that's the top 3, chaps.
I love that. I'd forgotten about its existence.
at the tail end of the think tank tour. it was awesome.
I've never seen Blur live.
they toured think tank, but i saw them three times that year and loved everyone. i was on the barrier for one of their astoria shows and damon touched my hand omg!!!!!!
End of a Century
Out of Time
Strange News From Another Star
on the other hand, are untouchable.
is the best Bour song. Which means I win.
Not 'Bour'. I don't even know who 'Bour' are.
i think it's probably their best album.
by a distance, I think.
That suggesting Song 2 is likely to go down like a lead balloon? But also:
Coffee and TV
And Think Tank is great.
is what prevents Think Tank from being virtually perfect.
They seemed to be trying a little too hard to be recreating Song 2, and it fell flat on its arse
Or To The End. Or the The Universal but probably out Of Time.
Reading this it suddenly occured to me that you are all pathetically refusing to acknowledge the truth:
You actually like Song 2 the best.
So I will do it for you:
Song 2 is my favourite Blur Song.
Apart from Battle, The Debt Collector, The Universal, Trim Trabb, This Is A Low and Popscene - which I just realised, I for some reason no longer have, even though I swear I downloaded it years ago. Weird.
It's the Blur song I most like to hear when I'm out although there's 2 or 3 ones I prefer to it as outlined above.
far too overplayed for me to listen to anymore.
Not only my favourite Blur song, but my favourite song full stop. It's Coxon and Albarn at their very, very best.
but there's just something about This Is A Low that sets it appart from everything else to me. The solo in that song alone made me open my ears to a lot of music I wouldn't have otherwise (baring in mind I was nowt but a kid when I fell in love with it) - just sticking it on repeat and actually *listening* to what Coxon is doing on that track was mindblowing to a mid nineties me.
..closely followed by End Of A Century
all the rest are way behind.
& then perhaps the universal & he thought of cars.
but because of the highly disparate sounds on each album, this is difficult.
perhaps favorite song on each album?
favourite song - Trimm Trabb
Maybe I'll listen to it again now. But I don't think I can face it. Maybe I'll just listen to classic Blur instead.
Only the hidden track from when you rewind at the start is really anything like 'Blur' to my mind.
It's probably a fine album. It just doesn't have any feel of 'Blur' to me so I ignore it. I don't even like most of 13...
arguement that it doesn't 'feel' like a blur album. blur changed so much between leisure and the s/t album that it's kinda silly to say there's a 'blur' sound.
and that's a great collection. I ignored all the remixes and alternative versions...apart from Death of a Party. But those versions are special.
in bustin' & dronin'. haven't listened to it in yeaaaaaaaars, but i remember liking the thurston moore remix.
and before anyone says, I appreciate how weird this makes me.
I also like coffee and TV. In fact later Blur > earlier Blur
On Your Own
Battery In Your Leg
they're my favourite at this very second.
