I am SO excited.
Make sure you are there in time to see mewithoutyou.
about 5 hours early...
i saw mewithoutyou in southampton.
they were good, but they love Jesus a little bit too much. Plus the sound at so'ton guildhall is shite
mewithoutyou were really really shit at that gig.
maybe it was just the crapness of the guildhall, who knows!
You're quite right to be SO excited. mewithoutyou were very good too.
Deja Entendu in its entirety...
That gig was awesome.
Even Good To Know?!
My god. I cannot wait for this gig.
No Millstone, Limousine, Archers or Handcuffs.
5 YFW songs. And 20 seconds of Come As You Are
Not The Sun and Bangkok?
and no Not The Sun
Bangkok was played as the first song of the third set.
can we go back and do it again?
When I saw them, they played every song but not in order.
They opened with Tautou.
I was holding out for Limousine. Anywho, getting dead excited at work, sitting here writing reports listening to Deja :D Two hours til hometiiime!
I'VE SEEN MORE GETS IN 11 YEAR OLD KIDS!
can't wait :DDDDDDDD
this should be good.
I'm well upset.
They play Mixtape?
& their coming to dublin on thursday but I've absolutely no way of traveling to it *Sigh*
they no play mixtape.
I love that song.
but one of my friends can't make it because she has raging flu :'(( If anyone would like a standing ticket (face value obviously), PM me in the next half hour or get my mobile number off someone. We'll be getting to the venue around half 6 or 7.
even sold out. Which is ludicrous.
I really, really, REALLY hope they play Limousine, cos I'm listening to it right now for the millionth time and it STILL gets the hairs on my back of my neck going. Epic.
there was only seated tickets left. So most people (like myself) went hmmm I don't really like sitting at gigs so didn't bother.
I saw them in 2003 at the Astoria and they ranged between epic and downright awful. By the time I saw them at Brixton last September they were purely the former. I envy everyone going tonight.
so I fully expect to be feeling very old. Although none of even the slightly alternative kids I teach have heard of them - I need to start pimping them out (Brand New that is, not the kids.)
awesome set, awesome sound and awesome performance. What a night. I'm so happy right now.
he throw the cymbal through the drums?
he might have done, I was in the pit quite a bit so didn't see some stuff. Vinnie did some awesome stuff with his guitar (throwing it miles in the air, playing it with a bow).
Set was the same as your gig by the way. Highlights were probably You Won't Know, 70x7, Me vs Maradona vs Elvis and Tommy Gun but everything was great.
I now have a ridiculously tight hoodie which I bought outside for £7. We also met Sophia and Dalkin which was great (and doubtful got the bus down with us). There are some brilliant photos of Sophia by the way :D
i know have a stupidly bad headache and i cant talk, but it was worth it. cant believe its taking me almost 3 years to see them again. roll on earls court
and I'm aching ALL over. And it's so worth it :D
underground ride? First the emo/goth kids demanding a group hug. Then funny overbearing drunk guy eating Chris' jelly beans and telling us music was what life is about. Also I think me and Becky were a little hysterical on the Oxford Tube. But good times.#
The lighting was awesome!
we were all a little hysterical on the Oxford Tube :D
the 'surprise!' or it's ok if he's attractive bit that totally shamed us. :)
I have ever seen. First gig completely on my own, and so worth it. From start to finish, just perfect. Million miles better than they were in September, and they were pretty good then. Tempted to go to GIAN now, just for them and Kevin Devine.
just short ones unfortunately, but nice quality.
I wish they'd release a live DVD, or at least some sound desk recordings of these gigs. I'm so tired but I wish I could do it all again tonight!
i can't put into words quite how amazing this gig was but i have tried in my blog. shame i didnt meat you tho bunique!
I got there literally two minutes before they started, they were fucking brilliant, especially when the whole of Brand New came out for In A Sweater Poorly Knit.
Brand New were seriously amazing though, I'm pretty certain it's the best gig I've ever been to. My only slight gripe about the set was Jesse's wolf howl at the end of You Won't Know, but never mind haha.
'best ever' but im pretty sure i feel the same.
we missed the beginning of mewithoutyou but we saw most of their set and i agree, it was awesome when everyone was on the stgae for the last song!
but ended up meeting a friend for a drink and didn't get there til 9ish. All I've been doing today is trying to find new superlatives to describe how brilliant it was. Everyone around me seemed to be loving it too. I really liked the way it was like the "three phases" of Brand New. Still no Limousine though, but that's the only downer in a night of highlights.
