BRMC live!

Reckoning [Edit] [Delete] 29 replies 14:40, 9 February '07

The mighty BRMC (Hooray!) will be supporting the Killers (boooo!) on their arena tour. The likelihood is that there'll be some headline dates around this time too - indeed a Dublin date has already been announced at the Village on the 26th.

Check that shit.

  • Sorry

but they're the most boring live band I've ever seen

    LordLuciusBanter | 9 Feb '07, 14:42 | X
    • Don't apologise - each to their own.

But you do realise that you're wrong...?

      Reckoning @LordLuciusBanter | 9 Feb '07, 14:43 | X
      • To be fair, he's not

        bamos @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 14:46 | X
        • To be fairer than you, he is.

And i think he knows it.

To be specific, 'Whatever Happened to my Rock n Roll...' is one of the best live songs ever, it really is.

          Reckoning @bamos | 9 Feb '07, 14:49 | X
        • i've seen them 9 times.

NINE. AND I DON'T KNOW WHY.

to be fair, my shoulder is in '9 songs' because of them.

          sarkyfox @bamos | 9 Feb '07, 14:50 | X
          • Everyone's being very fair today...

9 times is good. The second album tour was a little disappointing - not helped by larger venues (their Brixton gigs weren't great)...

            Reckoning @sarkyfox | 9 Feb '07, 14:55 | X
            • no, no they weren't.

              sarkyfox @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 15:06 | X
              • no, no they weren't

                BJM owned them

                devonmalcolm @sarkyfox | 9 Feb '07, 15:08 | X
                • BJM are truly awful live!

We all know Dig was a good film but you're kidding no-one by pretending to rate them as a live act.

Their onstage bickering is about all they're worth seeing for. The Cobbs (formerly mad action, formerly ty cobb) have been a good support act on a number of occasions.,

                  Reckoning @devonmalcolm | 9 Feb '07, 15:22 | X
                  • and that shows just how poor BRMC were

                    devonmalcolm @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 15:43 | X
              • it would appear they prefer the more intimate venues...

certainly, on their Howl tour, the shows were quite superb, with the smaller venues suiting the album perfectly whilst accentuating the brilliance of the rockier earlier tunes.

                Reckoning @sarkyfox | 9 Feb '07, 15:20 | X
                • It's impressive

that they are about to release their fourth album. When most bands of their type circa 2001 have been dropped or disbanded. That doesn't necessarily mean they are any good.

                  busstopboxer @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 15:42 | X
                  • Happy coincidence then, eh?

Their new album should, if all's fair in the world, be a belter. The drummer's back on board and their on good form after Howl. I'm horny for it.

                    Reckoning @busstopboxer | 9 Feb '07, 15:47 | X
                    • what happened

                      to mull hisorical society?

                      cotty @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 16:36 | X
                      • Colin thingy went solo didn't he?

                        Reckoning @cotty | 9 Feb '07, 16:39 | X
  • hmmm

i saw them once at reading festi and were decent, but nothing to get excited about i thought.

besides, we have JAMC touring this year... who needs BRMC?!?!

    :)

    _IndiElectronica_ | 9 Feb '07, 15:51 | X
    • ...those who wish to see more than 1 band a year...

Also, BRMC do JAMC better and with slightly more grace.

      Reckoning @_IndiElectronica_ | 9 Feb '07, 15:55 | X
      • Sorry

are you actually IN the band? I never thought anyone would be so keen on BRMC. Except Noel Gallagher, for about five minutes.

        busstopboxer @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 15:56 | X
        • Yes. Yes i am.

          I'm the guitarist.

I'm also Noel Gallagher, so that explains your second point.

          Reckoning @busstopboxer | 9 Feb '07, 16:01 | X
      • what does it mean?

'...those who wish to see more than 1 band a year...'

if any refence to me I assure you I see more than one band a year :) (more like one a week...)

        _IndiElectronica_ @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 16:26 | X
        • I took your 'we've got JAMC this year...' comment literally...

for the purposes of my biting reply...

          Reckoning @_IndiElectronica_ | 9 Feb '07, 16:38 | X
          • ahh

gotcha... sorry, it just confused me is all...haha

tbh - that may be fair point tho.. i doubt the JAMC reuinion will last more than year. In fact I'd bet on it...

            _IndiElectronica_ @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 16:45 | X
            • Yeah...they;ve not got the geatest relationship the Reid bro's...

              Reckoning @_IndiElectronica_ | 9 Feb '07, 16:55 | X
  • They are not boring live AT ALL

I counted 40 people stage diving in their mosh pit and after that, gave up counting... they were fucking unreal...
But supporting The Killers? Hmmmmm - interesting choice...

    Rose-Kitten | 9 Feb '07, 16:52 | X
    • At last! Thank you...

Yeah, the Killers support slot's not really gone down too well on the BRMC forums. Maybe they is old mates of summat.

      Reckoning @Rose-Kitten | 9 Feb '07, 16:54 | X
      • I'll back you up buddy

BRMC are a fantastic live band and just a great band all round. Can't wait for Baby 81 to come out.

        Acquiescence @Reckoning | 9 Feb '07, 17:20 | X
        • I'll back you both up

they were amazing - saw them at The Astoria two summers ago.. Sigh.. what a night.. sweat, loud music, vodka shots, and good company. A memorable gig. And great music.

But supporting The Killers? They don't need that. Their fans must be awfully puzzled.

          Rose-Kitten @Acquiescence | 9 Feb '07, 17:24 | X
  • I really want to see them.

I remember my brother listening to their debut when it was out, and I hated it as a little 'un.

    They're ace though.

    wrightylew | 9 Feb '07, 17:31 | X
    • they were very good

      in sheffield last year.
