Don't you just hate it when gigs clash!?
Name your worse gig clashes!
Mine: Arcade Fire/Bright Eyes 16th Feb.
uni exams/atp- yuk.
are doing 2 other nights, you could try and swap them
Or see Bright Eyes in oxford like me
i had exams clash with glastonbury the 2 times i had tickets. there will be no repeat this year. ive dropped out hahaha
for the same reason. Then I go in 2005 and it was a piss poor line-up in comparison. Typical.
was Fear Of Flying/Hot Club De Paris/Jamie T playing Mine, at Leeds Uni (which is fucking tiny)
against Kid Harpoon/GoodBooks/Fields at the Faversham (which is fucking tiny)
I chose Jamie.
10 gig clashes all at once
one of my gigs clashed with polo natni or what ever he is called i have also clashed with the romance meaning something no oe show up for my gig because there off to see the romance lol
Arcade fire (again!) and Kings of Leon at Reading 2 years ago. That was a very bad one, infact worse than the one on the 16th!
clashes at festivals are common, or yknow when one band is just finshed and you know the next one you wanna see is just starting, except its about 2 miles away and 10,000 people in between. pain in the breasticicle
my uni terms ended by then. my school tried to stop me going to 2005 by pretending they couldnt understand the handwriting on the letter i sent them. It was typed, they hadnt even bothered to read it. so i played truant and went anyway. when they asked me i said id sent the head a letter and when he told me he couldnt read it i told him it had been typed. he shut up quick.
if youve seen explosions definitely campesinos, theyre loads of good fun, one of the happiest live acts ive ever seen.
a free ticket for nine inch nails at the astoria. however i had to go and see miss fucking saigon for someones birthday. GOOD DEAL!
on the 3rd of march
it was between the go team and forward russia.
I stupedly bought tickets for both thinking they were on different days, and wasnt able to choose.
On the night I went for forward russia, got knocked back, then ran to barrowlands to see if i could still get into go team.
Worst night ever.
I have some bad ones... I once had 5 different gigs I wanted to be... that was the worst (can't remember the bands anymore though, sorry. I was at Glasto, what do you expect?!?!) :)
remember broken social scene (which i already got ticket for) clashed with B&S.
i still have not seen BSS.
B&S are like around all the time. i travelled two hours and spent 30 quid on a train ticket to see bss in cardiff, as well as paying for my brother so id have someone to go with. i felt like id cheapskated when i saw the set.
Flaming Lips at the Albert Hall vs
Test Icicles last gig at the Astoria. Chose the latter - I'm sure Flaming Lips will be back.
Aren't Modest Mouse playing the Albert Hall soon? I can't see that one selling out, much as I like the band.
i had a choice of Aereogramme or the Bluetones - I'm going to the former.
one to come: we're supporting retro spankees and das wunderlust on the 20th (a gig I'd be giving an arm to see anyway, let alone playing), but I have a ticket for Trail of Dead at Koko on the same night, doubt I'll be able to play, watch bands and get to Camden so will have to miss Trail of Dead who I bet will break up after this year...
Vision of disorder vs PJ Harvey
chose VOD, they never showed up.
and regina spektor. :(((
i just started listening to her and can imagine it being breathtakingly good
ticket for Brand New.
I had to miss Einstellung to see Arcade Fire.
A Silver Mt Zion vs Papa M.
arab strap vs bardo pond/jackie o motherfucker/alexander tucker vs jeffrey lewis last december
or or magik markers vs sonic youth vs comets on fire at last atp
on the first night and comets on fire the second :)
My slot clashed with :( - I was SPECIFICALLY AT TRUCK TO SEE :( when I saw them on the bill. Fuck.
