(Yeah, I admit I'm slow)
It's not a great pop single. Maybe it's a grower.
devoid of information, reactionary, almost definitely forced, given only one listen.
cheers for that.
or was it to theguywithnousername?
it's a brilliant single!
It was necessarily devoid of information 'cos I'd only heard it once.
My point (which I'm stickng to so there!) is that surely the best comeback singles are the most immediate songs off the album that really strike you in their tracks, say "wow" and then rush off to buy the album. I wasn't a huge fan of Silent Alarm but thought it had a handful of great pop songs (e.g. "Helicopter", "Banquet" and "She's Hearing Voices") that grabbed you from the first listen and I'm a bit disappointed that I actually now can't even remember how "The Prayer" went, let alone whether I liked it.
Ultimately there's a fuck of a lot of music in the world and there was nothing there that made me wanna listen to the song again (unless I was trying really hard to like it).
I thought it was gash the first few times I heard it, but now I quite like it
well, aside from Banquet, but they leave me cold, and his voice is too drony
I still don't like it.
Sorry Kele, for I won't be purchasing the album...
but has grown. Bought the album, and it's like-wise; really does take some spins.
Ignore completely the shitty leaked version.
good single - shame the rest of the album isn't any where near half as good
its deffo a grower
called it poignant. Twice.
Just looked up poignant in the dictionary, says nothing about "meandering half-arsed rubbish that Kitchens of Distinction would have baulked at 15 years ago"
word longer than 6 letters she knows.
