Word to that.
I was listening to "Music like Beulah" or something and within 2 tunes it was on Kate Bush, which then evolved into the Eurythmics... That was my Pandora experience.
Music Like Oxes --> Joe Satriani --> Steve Vai
But more to the point - How can Pandora's be better than Last.Fm when the only use I want out of Last.fm is to tell me every once inawhile what I've been listening to.
Pandora exists for a totally different purpose. Which is fine, since it just now recommended me some total gash - I said I didn't like it, and it came back with something I'm rather digging. The system works... so far.
I do find Pandora's approach admirable and exciting and interesting though.
brought me pantera. no shitting. It'll find one track by an artist thats similar to all the tracks of another artista nd then base its choice on the style of the artist that did that one track.
You can't type in one song and think it's gonna read your mind. If a song comes up you don't like, tell it no. The more you tailor it, the more it gives you stuff that you really like.
i did. its not always terrible. but it brings up obscure metal acts who have one ambient track hidden in an album of complete death-kill-rape music. The sound of the track is nice so you say you like it and BAM - anal cunt pops up during a search based on brian eno.
red house painters
