they work much better.
Unfortunately the rather middle-of-the-road music tended to take a bit of an edge off it.
on bbc look north tonight (the north lincolnshire and hull version).
there are lots of upset people in hull tonight apparently. fonda 500 are the best band to come from hull anyway, not the beautiful south OR the paddingtons. yuck.

Am I missing something. Are their album tracks amazing or something?
and in a non-pretentious way. A bit like the divine comedy I guess. But they are way old these days.
Tim Burgess recently said that The Charlatans are still going because he thought it would be a cop out, having come so far, to not reach the 20th anniversary. The Beautiful South made it to 19.
Not a big fan, but I've got the Carry On Up The Charts compilation and they had their moments.
I keep seeing that guy from the Beautiful South in West Didbury (Manchester)- I'm sure its him.
they were a brilliant singles band.
more thasn a little happy they are gone.
they really were the most offensively bland, trite pile of crap.
