for many years but I like Steve Jones playing on Problems
frigging in the rigging is the one that pops into my head the most, not in a good way though
Bodies or Holidays In The Sun
cos all the singles are too overplayed, and the rest is bobbins.
but I think God Save The Queen is the best. Musically it's been dulled by repetition, but the anger is still there.
Plus its release date was tied into the silver jubilee which adds to it. It's one of those zeitgeist-defining number ones, like Ghost Town or...um...Three Lions.
As we all know, it only reached No.2.
tis why i'll always love PiL more.
holidays in the sun > everything else
it changed my life and regardless of how many times I hear it and how many apalling cover versions try to undermine it, it still sends shivers down my spine when I hear Johnny sneer the opening words.
in the sun.
But I'll say it again, most PiL tracks are better then the best of the Sex Pistols.
but Pretty Vacant is a close second.
I can never really get into PiL..
considering you have quite expansive musical tastes
Woz A Gas.
that they were one of the worst bands ever?
and no feelings.i like their cover of substitute too.
No question. [Though Sub-Mission is a close second]
Am reading Lydon's autobiography at the moment. Can't decide if he's a cunt, or actually has valid opinions on stuff. According to him, everything comes down to class, which just gets a bit irritating after a while...
but Pretty Vacant
It's the only song where he same CUNT clearly about 24 times and got away with it.
he's lots of fun.
he sings cunt loads as in "we're va-CUNT!"
Sex Pistols absolutely ruled. Factoid.
Just not someone I'd like to be stuck in a lift with.
reminds me a bit of 'all day and all of the night'
Not sure how old he'd have been (13 or so?). I also think "Submission" is their best song.
PS What do you mean "beat that"? Surely naming the best Pistols song doesn't have to be an obscurity contest?
you make the mistake of talking to a twat.
no question about it. The defining record of the times (ie the early punk years). Nary a weak track. Throw a dart...I'd say, Holidays in the Sun is my fav.
Steve Jones is really quite an accomplished guitarist, I don't care what anyone sez....
....he very frequently pulls out his acoustic axe on his radio show and he's very definately got an ear. Of all his guests maybe only Frampton has outshone ole Steve, but anyway I only mention this because it's always assumed how easy the guitar work is on Bollocks, which is bollocks.
