Ive just remembered how awesome they are.
Im off to rate them 10
dose anyone rember that 5ive thing they did and the musical
They had a few moments when they were slightly less applling, but taken as a whole, their body of work is total Phil Collins
total phil collins=bobbins or something?
queen aren't that great really, 'I'm going slightly mad' is the anthem for dull people that halluciante after too much vimto and think hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is laugh out loud funny
heh...it could be, but no- I mean as overblown, dull and artistically vacuous as Phil.
Like I said, they had their moments, but...bleh
it is. :-(
the book, i mean. and radio show.
Everyone singing along to the 'Wayne's World song' at Leeds before Franz Ferdinand came on was about as 'FUN!' as some stinking junky sitting next to you on the bus.
You're all wrong
Queen are alright by me
some of it works in a probably-ironic dj set sense, but only in moderation
the rest of it is pompous, self-righteous bilge.
Brian May did after Freddie died, what was it called? "well that's me fucked then" or something...?
Especially Brian May's urge to wank over his guitar in every song.
fuk da h8rz
queen have dope riddims, especially "somebody to love", thats songwriting
are you and a METAL HEAD.
Pompous and overblown!
They're not bad though. That Bicycle song is ace.
Freddie Mercury = greatest frontman ever. He should be used in some kind of musical thermometer against which other frontmen should be judged.
that they are responsible for You're My Best Friend, which is one of the sweetest songs ever written by a bassist
were exceedingly good.
everyone who says not is a total cunt.
not shit. greatest hits 1 is SOLID.
but I also hate with a passion the odd song. Generally they're very annoying.
fucking stand Queen. My idea of hell is having to go and see 'We Will Rock You' before appearing on This Is Your Life.
must be working in the ticket office at the front. can you imagine having to listen to The Greatest Hits Of Queen all day while dealing with tourists?
sweet zombie jesus.
I def heard "tear it up" last time i was there and that wasnt on any of the greatest hits....
if you look past the usual "hits" (we will rock you, dont stop me now) theyre actually amazing.
To be honest, i cant stand those songs, but the songwriting on "somebody to love" is amazing. The guitar solos are fucking awesome, despite brian may being a total prick.
and bohemian rhapsody IS amazing.
Its one of the few songs that is commercially and critically awesome.
is Queen's best song
closely followed by Now I'm Here
they were always interesting. They always tried different things, some of which worked, some of which failed horribly.
The sad thing is that when Mercury died they were frozen in aspic at one of the less good phases of their career and 'Queen' just came to mean the bombastic toss of their Live Aid performance.
And the way that the surviving members have milked every last drop they can out of the franchise is sickening.
Spread Your Wings and You and I were better tho
I saw them live on the Night At The Opera Tour, apallingly overblown performance, three costume changes for Freddie. Then again, I'd just heard the faint stirrings of punk so...
Been obsessed with them since I was about 5!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Just need to listen to the old stuff....the stuff that didnt make it onto greatest hits albums
