Hydra Head Records SXSW showcase
Says the press release:
Hydra Head Records will hold a showcase for the 2007 SXSW Music Festival on March 15th at Emo's Annex Tent in Austin, TX. The event will began at 7pm and is slated to feature Pelican, Jesu, Big Business, Daughters, Oxbow, and Stephen Brodsky's Octave Museum.
How come there aren't music industry events on the scale of SXSW in Britain? I know its basically an industry shin-dig, but the sheer quantity (as well as variety & quality) of bands from around the globe that play at it make it pretty awesome. If the above line-up alone toured through the UK (or even did a one-off show), a lot of people would attend.
Plus as UK bands travel over there to do it, how come an equivalent doesn't exist here? There are similar regional events (there's In The City in Manchester for example, though it really isn't great) but they dont have international bands.
Seems odd. Oh, and that looks like an amazing gig.
