this starts early right?
times for HSCS anyoneeee?
the gig had been moved from 6:30 to 7:30. also i booked another ticket last night with the same (later) times on.
sounds pretty normal then.
anyone know what the stagetimes/length of sets have been elsewhere?
they have been short.
the blood brothers probably wont be on til ten, which means a lot of standing around, seems like there are lots of DiSers going, I hope i recognise some of you.
is it any good?
and i honestly can't remember, but i think it was a typical cheesey club night?
night it is boogie basement, i've never been though. It's all about sabotage or transformation if you want a decent club night.
which sounds like what i went to, but i still stand by that description, it all of those clubs normally blend into the same emotions.
Sabotage is alright, especially at the begining of the night
is where its at!
trash. scumbag. get off of facebook.
and is pretty good if you like funk, soul and real r'n'b
it is going to be fun fun fun
i, foolishly, brought a coat to work with me today, and i don't want to bring it if i can't check it...
Yes, it does have a cloakroom.
the dirty scummer.
next he'll write a song about how he wore his jeans four days. And they turned into a flesh eating heroin guzzling anteater.
he wore the same clothes in oxford.
i might be going alone though. :(.
are poooooo triiiiiipe
S'gonna be a good night :) I'll be the guy with normal hair, say hi!
don't say hi!!!!!!!
i am WELL excited :D
i'll be the guy who is me, hopefully a bit more sober than my profile pic
so if anyone wants to punch me in the face during one of the songs, go ahead. It won't make much difference. "Ambulance vs Ambulance" would be perfect.
I am quite excited about this actually. And I haven't been to oxford in bloomin' ages.
I'M LEAVING WORK NOW BYEEE GUYEEEES snottylottiebotty see you at the bus station x x x xx x x x x x
WAYYYYYYYY too short :( and it took half the set for the sound guy to figure out he was being payed to do something.
In a totally selfish way I'm hapopy to hear negative things about this tour.
I don't think i have ever been so underwhelmed by a performance.
The guitar playing was horrible, the vocals were a mess and the sound was so flat.
Very boring. I'm glad it finished early.
I was a little dissapointed.
cardiff wasn't amazing, but it certainly wasn't boring.
i LOVE the last four albums and was looking forward to this so much as i had not seen them before and had heard great things.
It left me completely cold.
I actually felt a little embarassed for them. All the prancing around the stage and striking poses was cringeworthy when accompanied with a live sound which was so dire.
...and will probably enjoy them again tomorrow.
it was ok, i enjoyed it, but they had a lot of little faults.
i didn't like the tempo of set fire
thin screamy dude didn't sing all of his parts
hot yellow haired guy was obviously a bit ill
i want such a vast selection of Rickenbackers, or just one either!
i'm very glad i got to see them, and i still have Camouflage, Camouflage in my head, but...
HSCS were a bit better than i expected, but i heard lots of bad things about them.
...but the guy is obviously ill.
one day i will see this band at full health in a venue with decent sound. ONE DAY.
and no encore. disappointed
suggs and the blood brothers do a song-swap covers split like that nofx/rancid one.
Slightly underwhelming, but it wasn't in any way bad or boring, I didn't think.
It was a short set, but the bassist was ill. At least they didn't cancel the whole show.
terrible evening really. main factor was the fucking crowd who for the majority were little boys (yeah 14+ concerts, gotta love them...) doing that stupid "dancing" via punching bullshit that should of stayed at slipknot concerts. 3 fights had to be broken up, security were in the pit at one point, even jordan had to say something. this one girl was quite viciously laying into this boy in a stripy polo shirt for knocking over her boyfriend, she was pushing her way into his general direction shouting at him all night. like yeah he's a prick but just let it go already, for fucksake, it's just a gig!
the sound wasn't up to much at some parts, "skeletal lightning" sounded atrocious, couldn't hear cody's guitar for the majority of the set, the band looked like they didn't want to be there and it was no real surprise they refused to do a encore. sorry to say but london > oxford.
do come back again though lads, maybe in a warmer, healthier climate?
really sloppy playing
couldnt hear any of codys guitar all night
crowd full of cunts
my GOD they are shit!
i thought they were awesome, but eclipsed by patrick wolf (who i had the lowest expectations of), which shocked me quite a lot because i was very anti-wolf.
mega lol @ everyone leaving before good shoes.
but then again, like myself, they looked so fed up of waiting around.
dananackroyd were bloody good. the horrors also surprised me, because they can play live.
the bassist was fucking ill.
the rest of your 'complaints' are about 100x worse than the actual reality of the night. fucking indie kids.
had guestlist tickets for the Islington Academy gig, but was feeling shit so didn't bother. For some reason I had a suspicion it would be disappointing.
Also, what is it about Blood Brothers gig that gets the crowd starting on each other. I remember when they played at the Mean Fiddler, I'd been at the Astoria watching Jimmy Eat World, and there was a bit of an off on the tube between two groups of 15 year olds who had been at the BB gig. From what I could decipher one a guy from one group had accused someone else from another group of singing along, but obviously not knowing the words (but still singing along y'know). For real. They were arguing about this. They could have argued about mesh hats or tight t-shirts or camp poses or lip rings, but they were arguing about this.
arguing on the interent never really got anyone anywhere so let's not get into who's opinion makes them right (though i imagine you've already made your mind up in this case) i had a shit time because of the crowd and you didn't. end of. and "fucking indie kids?" puuuuuurlleeease.
as far as i saw there was one bitch lady who (indirectly) hit my girlfriend and that was it.
the crowd was fairly good humoured i felt.
of indie kids, and how they complain about EVERYTHING and make everything out to be The Worst Thing In The History Of Ever, when most of the time it isn't.
I stand by the fact that some of the 'criticisms' made in this thread have been blown completely out of proportion.
as it goes: i was on the edge of the 'pit', and it didn't really look that bad at all. i've seen worse. jordan only told the crowd to calm down because one guy was being a tit, and that was the guy who security pulled out. i think he got thrown out.
you probably saw me!
i had a hat and white v neck t shirt on. black jeans, bag round my shoulder?
i probably knocked into you once or twice. GOOD HEALTH!
I can't believe all this moaning. I think we should be thankful the blood brothers actually played at all, despite Johnny and Morgan's illness. I thought they were fab at the Islington gig.
I thought they were great in London. The only downside was the crowd. Most of them seemed to just want to be seen at a Blood Brothers show because 'itz leik kewl' or something
i don't understand all the moaning about this gig!
it was fucking amazing. i think all the haters were just not dancing. this is music to move to, i was in the thick of the 'pit' (as it were) and i loved it.
HSCS were wank though.
were magnificent tonight in Antwerp. No signs of illness, great set, fantastic sound. I was quite scared after reading everything on here but I loved every second of it!
