i got the letting go today and think its kinda great.
what should i get next?
i see a darkness.
and i would probably agree that it would be the next step after the letting go.
and get Days in the Wake.
Then, start on Bonnie. It puts it all into glorious context.
days in the wake
viva last blues
lost blues and other songs
ease down the road
i see a darkness
are all essential not just for fans of will oldham, but music in general.
it is really, but think it might take a good few listens to fully sink in.
i love i see a darkness
with Nuala Kennedy and they were truly great. Here's a photo of him from Sunday
and one from April
or was that another tour?
great photos as ever cadd.
not sure if it was with Matt Sweeney. He was absolutely superb that night. Sunday was unbeleivably good though, started with really ambient atmospheric folk, going onto an insane instrumental then lovely singer/songwriter stuff of the Oldham type. The band were great. This year so far has been amazingly good gigwise for allround quality
And thanks for the compliment :)
at the bridgewater hall.i love him so much but the gig was annoyingly dissapointing.he did the country version of ohio riverboat song which is not a patch on the original.watching him is always mesmerizing though.just a pity the set list was so bad and jools holland on the piano was just irrating
