This review almost makes me interested to hear them again after the MOR shite that was 'Warnings/Promises'.
are Idlewild fans becoming the new RHCP fans? Celebrating whichever turgid and yawnsome move they make next
I first heard 'Captain' on Peel about ten years ago and loved it, 'Hope is Important' is in my opinion their best album and they have gone steadily downhill ever since, reaching, imho, the bottom with 'Warnings/Promises' so I can't help a slight feeling of betrayal. What I need to know before parting with any cash is is the rumoured 'back to basics' hype actually true? Or is it still peppered with turgid americanised ballads?
Did they say they were going to meet you at 8 but didn't turn up?
Love the username, 'Spaced' rules!!!
the highlight is 'if it takes you home' and the rest of it is not-so-slickly-produced crafted idlewild rawk... the best impression I can say is 'the feeder it's okay to like'. does that help?
...makes me expect something that sounds like carter usm.
sorry usm fans.
but did that review actually use the phrase "Feeder-like articulacy" in a positive sense?
