But I'm very afraid !
its definately a slow burner, the new sound takes some getting used to, especially after hearing tracks live, but the songs are f'in a, in my opinion
but I think the mastering is not done yet either... will wait and see on the final release...
this was anywhere near to finished! silly me.
presumably. I'll wait. When is it released? Before ATP or not?
i didnt even know it was finished, stop pressuring me!
its so militant
...being mormons I mean.
Anyone know if they are practicing?? I'm personally not religious at all but have a lot of mormon friends from my youth in seattle. Strangely, the few I've kept in touch with at all haven't heard of them - so they aren't exactly playing that card to get more fans from their church...
They are one of my most listend to bands of 2005 and along with Arcade Fire, my most eagerly awaited gig of this year. I saw them a year or so ago at Royal Albert but i HATE sitting at gigs...
2006 i meant.
what year is it again?! ;)
check out their kid signing!
and a couple of retribution gospel choir songs which are most excellent too. i can't wait to hear it.
sorry to piss on everyone's chips but it's a dreadful, horrible album.
Turgid, fuzzy production, crappy electro beats and samples, a stupidly obtrusive bass line on most tracks and just some really average song writing. It's their worst album by an absolute mile.
Hatchet is just so so bad. The whole situation makes me sad!
that I like, have they changed it a lot?
I think most of what you said could be applied to The Great Destroyer and I love that album so...
On wikipedia, it says that Pitchfork gave "The Great Destroyer" 5.5 out of 10?
Are they having a laugh??
Granted, I did click on the link for that review, and for some reason Pitchfork have removed it.
I'm looking forward to the new one.
I feel I must interject. I think it's a great album. Excepting Hatchet, which I don't think hits the right tone, I think it's a really good listen. Belarus is excellent, Murderer is excellent, the whole thing is excellent. To people who say it's boring, then surely you have always found Low boring. I don't understand.
im liking it less and less. the live versions of breaker and dragonfly pills are SO much more powerful.
if the great destroyer is your favourite Low album, there's every chance you'll like this one, though I still think it lacks the standouts of TGD.
If your favourite is any of the others and you think TGD was a one of their weaker offerings, stear clear of this
was very weak for a Low album.
My hopes for the new one aren't very high...
