hmm. how goest their future now?
she left when they got too 'commercial'
about 2 years ago. Didn't seem to hurt them.
and they did a cover of "Maps". It was ace.
at reading 04. I had just split up with the missus. not good for my mental state at the time.
Meg missed a beat in the middle and they did an extreme close up of her pissed-off face on the big screen.
could meg miss a beat? i know this is "off on a tangent" but she plays the most basic drumbeats i have ever heard. she's pretty much a disgrace to her instrument.
and yet the white stripes are still good. odd that.
yes - she doesn't do anything too complicated - but she usually keeps a good beat, and it fits the music. if she was off doing fills and rolls all the time it would really take away from their sound.
who knows - maybe she CAN do all that stuff, but chooses not to for the music?
but she can't drum. the reason she messed up Maps is because she was trying to do the beat as it is in the original.
that she probably isn't a technically good drummer who has chosen to play simple beats.
and was bored to tears.
for them on the sunset strip in 88.
why is this bad?
i'm asking i spose whether now they'll be subjected to overplay, and then subsequent hatred as such.
Funeral was a pretty big album. A hell of a lot of people like them, judging by the 20,000 people who bought tickets for their London gigs alone...
it never entered the top 40 album chart
it's quite unusual.
all day for the last erm....... year and a half and i don't really remember hearing them played. jo whiley certainly hasn't played them before that i've heard anyway...
generally. during the day.
Let's disown them en mass
didn't you get that memo?
i wasn't being completely serious. oh no wait, sorry, i hate any band after they've sold more than 20 singles. and are in magazines. and all manner of things like that.
