Should of been a hit. I love "rocking" out to this song.
or we'll be here for a week. i'll just say: 'Shocker In Gloomtown'
That song is on it for sure.
bestofs for bamos and guntrip. must converted all the unconverted everywhere ever.
this the official guided by voices bounce it every week or so thread.
I've been meaning to start a thread for ages (I'm really behind)
Basically - where to start?
I figure you're the right person to ask
you will almost definitely have to download because i've never seen it in a UK record shop.
you may not get it the first time, or the second, but it may just end up being one of your favourite albums of all time. if you can't find that, try Alien Lanes. again, listen 2 or 3 times. this isn't hard because those two albums have about 23 songs each all of which are usually only 2 minutes long. hard to get bored. you'll start to pick things up after a few listens and it aaaall slots into place.
Very much :)
that anyone can have. I see it in record shops in England all the time.
should take him up on that offer.
tell me why.
Men of wisdom and men of compromise (compromise!)
Men of weak flesh in an armored disguise
All fall down
Teenage FBI is probably the best pop song that never really got heard, Isolation Drills rivals post-88 REM at their very best, Universal Truths and Cycles and Half Smiles of the Decomposed are both brilliant albums, and while Do The Collapse and Earthquake Glue arent exactly stone cold classics, they do have some very good songs on them. Guided By Voices were a great band until the end. Not just for three years in the early 90s.
4 albums the other way around. Do The Collapse and Earthquake Glue are better then Univeral... and Half Smiles...
Wouldn't argue with too much else though.
1 - Production quality
2 - .... errr
that if you gave Universal Truths and Cycles / Isolation Drills a proper listen you would actually like it. For example I hated Mag Earwhig when I first got it, just sounded like a crap Alien Lanes, but it is actually great, just like all the other albums.
Another random point - I think a 25 track best of from 97-05 would be just as good as a 25 track best of from 85-96. Controversial but I think true.
I'm just disappointed!
who bought "Relaxation of the Asshole"
liquid indian, tractor rape chain, glad girls, i am a tree..
i could go on forever.
