Muse - Origin Of Symmetry.
Although the first one I recieved was Robbie Williams - Sing When You're Winning.
and Music from the film Ghostbusters
A double-header of pleasure
the Smiths - the queen is dead
I'd be pretty surprised if anyone heard of them, though.
The second was better anyway. The Posies - Amazing Disgrace
I haven't listened to that in aaaaaaaaaaages
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Everyone else seems to know, but I never saw it as a big deal at the time.
Was probably Less Than Jake or something horrible.
I'm so ridiculously uber cool
And I bought OSS when it was released. I'd heard Plug In Baby on the radio, and so began my transformation to the rock god I am today.
The only way you can separate honest, down-to-earth people is by seeing whether they like Muse or not.
im not ashamed to say, its pretty good.
I think my first album was hybrid theory by linkin park. Either that or the marshall mathers l.p.
2001 was amazing, I basically got into music that year. Ash and Feeder played a part in this too. Free All Angels was so good back then...
Lightning Seeds - Dizzy Heights
I lost mine some time ago and have been desperately been trying to find a replacement, ideas?
been Travis- the man who
me feel waaaaayyy old :-(
Actually, I think that was mine too.
Bluetones - Expecting to Fly. I think I was 12 or so when it came out
And what a sleeve. Gotta love the peacock
Verve - Urban Hymns
Catatonia - International Velvet
Embrace - The Good Will Out
All Saints - All Saints.
All were bought around the same time, not sure which was first. Probably Embrace.
All for Love.
i'm so cool i like early Bobby Brown, not the sold out shit.
The Good Will Out. Do you still like it?
honourable mention to life thru a lens and i've been expecting you. early robbie = pop goodness.
(albeit mainstream)? I'm not afraid to admit that aged 8 I bought a tape version of the Spice Girls 2nd album. My music taste didn't *begin* to improve until I was about 13...
a couple of Spice girl singles, '2 become 1' was one of them I think...
I loved really cheesy pop, till I heard Muse, and also for a long time after that.
I just didn't really buy albums. I was only a wee nipper like.
It's so true! What a bunch of shysters on here! And I can trump your taste improvement age - at 18 I was still into Deacon frackin' Blue!
My first record was Senses Working Overtime by XTC, which is pretty cool (I was 8). But it got a lot worse before it got better, that's all I am saying.
However, before that I'd been bought a lot of Meat Loaf cassettes. I used to be obsessed with Meat Loaf.
HOW COOL AM I!?
Great album. I lost it a couple of years ago :(
I bought Fleetwood Mac- greatest hits
and Dire straits - money for nothing first. Shit I'm old... but wiser!
Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits is the most recent album I bought. Four quid at Virgin. Can't scoff at those prices
It seemed ironic to me, even at that tender age, that Denise van Outen saw fit to take the piss out of them
-oh well, yes indeed.
but it was either:
oasis - (what's the story) morning glory
manic street preachers - everything must go
i still have both of them!
Performance And Cocktails
They performed on TOTP barefoot, they were so cool!
whats the story
thats quite standard though
new adventures in hi-fi, i think. either that or the great escape by blur, whichever came first.
Mine was "As Ugly As They Want To Be" by Ugly Kid Joe. I guess that was an EP though...
was either michael jackson or iron maiden.
first received: the aladdin soundtrack
was Travis - The Man Who#
whats the story by oasis
i do hate it now
savage garden - savage garden
I had to re-buy it last year because the vinyl had given up
I like that album
SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT KNOWING THE NAME!
although i also bought genesis - we can't dance at the same time. 1992 i think.
by the White Stripes. I'm cool.
night flight to venus by Boney M
it certainly wasn't by the Spice Girls, oh no, not at all.
cant remember which one though.
either Thriller by Micky J or Hendrix bbc sessions
On record I seem to remember a Bros record when I was 10-12 or so?
OBVIOUSLY first album i owned was the spice girls. every 8 year old girl had that album. come on!
first decent album i bought was...coldplay, parachutes. there's reasons for my late album-buying development.
'Fin de Siecle' by the Divine Comedy, after hearing 'National Express' on the radio.
ADAM AND THE ANTS "Prince Charming"
that album made me love music.
Blur - The Great Escape
Still Love It Too
2004, completely changed my outlook on music. Before then I didn't give a toss to be honest.
still quite good
Its now my least favourite Beatles record.
was Trash by Alice Cooper.
I was 9 or 10.
My thread is winning. Eat dust Mart.
compilation of james bond tunes bought brand new from Jack Hobbs records for £3.28p.To give you an idea of the era Octopussy hadnt yet come out.
with my own money.
in utero - Nirvana
Pandoras toys - Aerosmith
...And justice for all - Metallica
Troublegum - Therapy?
I bought them the first time i was allowed into town on my own, it was a fun day.
the first CD i bought was BodyCount!
Morning View. Back in the day.
not bad I say. First CD was the Spin Doctors, who are definitely better than the Chili Peppers.
