wooooooooooooohooooo! i have it! let's get listening - one of my favourite bands FINALLY following up 2002's debut...
What about Ozona? That was released in 2005.
because it was originally an EP, then they added some tracks from their other EP 'Extended Play' to make it an album
That shut me up.
i love 'every one of us'; it's like a smile in musical form, and the strings and chimes on 'heaven's my destination' are lovely in a slippy-slidey way. they're such a comforting band; they make me feel better even when they're just on in the background.
oh and 'aperture', the opener, is woozy and like the sunrise.
When is it released ?
i don't actually have the debut - only ever heard them live, and once at that - though i may have to dig it out...
Has it been leaked I take it?
because they played a gig in steventon (where the majority of the band live, home of truck festival) the other day and copies of the album were available
a review, so copy came through the post
but that sounds really lovely about the gig in Steventon! god, that place is gorgeous.
hmm, maybe it's coming out in europe earlier? i'm pretty sure the Truck Records (UK) release is the 5th, though. either way, sooooooon, hurrah!
are putting it out in europe (not UK) and it says January 12th on their website
you can get the song 'everyone of us' here http://www.cityslang.com/mp3/everyoneofus.mp3
I so hope it's true !
ive got to say that i absolutely love it. 'everyone of us' stands out immediately, as NowToNebraska says, it's a wonderfully happy song. but for me the slightly darker moments (if thats the right word) on the album are the best - '24 hours' and 'we will not be machines' in particular stand out. the strings, bleeps and chimes theyve added seem to take the music in a different direction to their earlier works. album of the year for me so far... although it is the only album ive got. i look forward to reading some reviews on its release.
BTW the whole album is now on their myspace http://www.myspace.com/goldrushmusic
