DiScuss? They've certainly had more of an influence on most of the bands I love...
but I can't say I agree.
For a start, I don't think there'd be a Pixies without The Beatles, but there you go.
Interesting, disagree with that proposition though.
Of 60s bands, the Velvets are more of an influence I would have that thought?
The Smiths > The Beatles
the beatles changed the face of popular music i cant see how anyone is more influential than that, but how far back do you have to go? i guess bach is more influential than the beatles
are absolute douches.
Doolittle > every Beatles album. Not that I've heard every Beatles album. In fact I've only ever properly listened to Sgt. Pepper, but most people seem to think that that's their best, and Doolittle's comfortably better than that, so it must be better than every album the Beatles made, ever.
the beatles agreed with you, kinda. lennon once told mickey: 'you're the band we're trying to be'
and how they were suspicious of the Beatles?
well the monkees weren't part of the us government...sorry i'm not sure what you're on aboot!
herpes > the smiths
The Smiths > you
the beatles had more of an influence on the bands you love than you perhaps realise
but i havent to got time for this, so byE!
When the current phase of bands moves on, the Pixies love will also move on.
The Beatles won't move on with fads. They'll become more popular with scenes passing on. Like they had a lot of sales during Britpop, but at the mo, its pretty fashionable to say they're shit.
Pixies wrote Debaser, and the Beatles wrote A Day In The Life.
lol. Joke thread?
Perhaps if you could read, this thread would be less entertaining for you.
Tell me about this current phase of bands who are all Pixies worshippers, maybe I'd like them...
has lasted for nearly 20 years unabated. why would it stop. smiths love hasn't stopped.
Frank Black has said enough times for you to understand what A influence The Beatles were on Pixies?
Next time I see him, I'll ask him to tell me again. With a megaphone pointed at my ear. That'll teach me. YEAH!
I was only sort of joking. I'm not a MASSIVE fan of The Pixies at all, it's just that I've read or heard that quite a few times and the cover of Wild Honey Pie might show that as well
probably had more of an influence, either directly or indirectly, on more of the bands I love than The Pixies have. Cos they've been around for TIME.
That said, I would much rather put a Pixies album on now than a Beatles one. And I can't see this changing, to be honest. Dunno. Not sure. Confused. Bye!
I love the Pixies, i love the Beatles. I'm not sure it matters that without the beatles there'd be no pixies either. You could say that about many bands where the influenced are better than the influencer.
I'll sit on the fence for this one.
at pointless replies.
TEAM POINTLESS REPLY!
Next stop, running around going '^this'. Zonino!
oh god :(
you quite clearly impiled that The Pixies are better than The Beatles.
i said it didn't make any difference that The Beatles Influenced the Pixies, as the person who said that implied it made the Beatles better.
it does seem like i'm saying i think the Pixies are better.
But i'm not!
nice way to rack up some replies
also you are wrong, but i'm fed up of having to explain why, and i've had a long day of shopping.
The Pixies PWN the Beatles.
