tis true.. what's happened to warp?
dont really get the point of this, maybe you have to have an in depth knowledge of warps recent activities and practices but dont all labels, big and small have aspects of all of this within them?
I guess the point is that Warp used to be underground, electronic type things, but in the last couple of years they've got a lot more commercial, gone into the guitar music side of things and are probably more commercial for it.
I just thought the letter was quite funny.
is meant to be funny.
"I have a number of ideas to help you to back to the top and to help ensure that we hear more Boards of Canada music when there are gay scenes on T.V. (like on the recent hollyoaks show) and to keep making all Warp music the soundrack to every U.K. T.V. documentary about something a bit wrong."
I'd like to say that I stopped reading after that point, but then my eyes fell on this:
"I won't bother sending a CV in because i am sure i already got the job "
who are owned by EMI, Warp are still independant.
... an up-to-date list or diagram anywhere about who owns what and who belongs to who?
not in "i can't like this band because their label is owned 3% by A who are 75% owned by Z" kind of way, just out of interest.
(not that I'm saying the above post is doing the thing in quotes)
battles happened to warp. they have a new sngle out in feb.
