i'm loving my festive gigs at the moment, been to three now and they've been a lot of fun.
the guided missile one last weekend had great entertainment from pArt Brut and others, plus there was free sherry and lots of nibbles.
the DiS one was good on the music front but lacked tinsel and any sort of christmassy vibe apart from a couple of xmas numbers.
last nights windmill xmas party was the best so far though, great lineup with the crimea, oppenheimer, get cape wear cape fly, my sad captains, v//formation & roland shanks, a few christmas numbers, decorations, food etc. all rather lovely.
But there are definitely not enough christmas covers happening though, last night we had oppenheimer doing xmas baby which was great but i want more! the SL records xmas gigs always ensured bands played at least one christmas cover which resulted in some really interesting interpretations, and obviously a few shockers too.
so, whats the best festive gig you've been to so far, and are there any more good ones upcoming? i think theres one at the enterprise this week with the crimea once again which should be good.
