Me: A live version of Buckingham Green by Ween! Beat that.
Yes I do.
Fifteen Pt. 2
I'm making a "rocking" mix CD. True story.
now it's Dorothy At Forty - Cursive
I'm on The Fitted Shirt by Spoon. This mix CD is going to be great!
¡Forward, Russia! probably won't be there, i think Cursive might be, although i've only listened to it a few times.
My top 5:
1: Fort Recovery by Centro-Matic: Will Johnson is an awesome songwriter, ranks along side Robert Pollard as being a prolific fucker. Best song on album: Calling Thermatico.
2: Bitter Honey by Eef Barzelay: That is his real name, I think his parents are hippies. The front man from Clem Snide with his first solo record and this is how acoustic music should sound. Very witty and moving lyrics. Best song on album: Well.
3: You In Reverse by Built To Spill: This was a long time waiting for the new album and completely worth it. There are some very epic, long songs on here. Doug Martsch is still my favourite singer. Best song on album: Conventional Wisdom
4: Eventually, All At Once by Joan Of Arc: This is the closest Tim Kinsella has got to an acoustic album filled with actual songs, maybe slightly better than the new Owen one. Best song on album: Free Will and Testament
5: I Saw The Devil Last Night And The Sunshines Bright by Moros Eros: Really good new band with vocals very similar to Modest Mouse, the songs are quite alike also. I think Minus The Bear fans would like this. Best song on album: Today Is The Day.
and reliving memories of her gig this year at the barbican.
my god, love and communication was just incredible live.
most criminally ignored album. It's really rather nice to listen to late at night.
and I'm currently downloading an Appleseed Cast album, thanks to you.
They sound amazing and I'm actually going to buy the album now! Thanks.
a few tracks and i'm liking them a lot.
nothing better than the originals but some of the 'alternate versions' are interesting, and her voice always gives me goosepimples.
'do do, do do do do...'
and I liked it. What album can you recommend?
The two most consistent albums are Not On Top and Mas Cambios. Maybe Mas Cambios is the better album, but Not On Top has the better tunes. If you see what I mean. Also, the Jackson Heights EP is incredible. Preferably get all those.
1-2-3/Apple Tree on the new album.
I think Not On Top is still probably the best album
Switzerland Heritage is prob my favourite, although Mas Cambios and the new one are both very good
is it 2CDs? I thought it was but then Amazon had it with only one so I got confused. Is it worth the purchase?
forthcoming 7" on try harder
i've just listened to the first one so far - it is definitely 2 cds. i got it from amazon new & used so try that, it was only about £6 or so.
like i say it's nothing earth shattering - of the 'remixers' i've heard of it's K-friendly stuff like the blow, tender forever and mt eerie. more re-workings than anything. hearing the songs in a different context is nice but it's in no way essential!
donuts by venetian snares
I'm Looking For What I Can't Get by Garageland on. Lyle should cover them in one of his forgotten bands thread.
"...you love telerad..."
One More Robot/ Sympathy 3000-21
The Chapman Family.
Rock Around The Christmas Tree
when I listened to rivulets and Audrey.
just listened to Pet grief for first time, why did it take me so long? Sounds very good.
Now listening to Lesser Matters
the crane wife. 'tis tres good.
also just listened to/super enjoyed gay against you. and i was a cub scout. and tim ten yen. and cutting pink with knives. and magnetic fields. what a day it has been.
and they were fantastic
but i was too busy clockwatching for last train home after their set and forgot to buy the EP.
what a twat.
dropshadow - disease fototienda (plaid remix)
as i'm working my way throught the entire plaid backcatalogue for the first time. it's brilliant.
I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass.
After that: maybe Portishead.
but lots of dark electro (Black Strobe)...
and 2 Pale Boys - 18 Monkeys On A Dead Man's Chest
Drum's Not Dead. On headphones. I'd forgotten how fucking good it is.
