Having a song in your head

rapscalion-jones [Edit] [Delete] 14 replies 22:04, 8 December '04
Is there anything more annoying than having a song stuck steadfast in your head?

Why yes, having one lyric from s song stuck in your head so that you sing it, incredibly badly, every couple of minutes safe in the knowledge that the tune you hvae in your head is from a totally different song... Grrr.

I did have a line from Bloc Party's Helicopter stuck there for a while but now its The Dears and Maximo Park's Apply Some Pressure. I like getting good songs stuck in my head though.

Last year for about a month i had metallica's master of puppets stuck in my head - I don't even like them.
I would just be singing it at work which didn't endear me to customers

Nobody Does it Better usually acts as a good antidote to that problem. However, fucking U2 came on the radio and woke me up this morning. I turned it off, then had a dream about frigging Ipods, before having that cack song whirring through my head all morning. I'm still upset about now.

I find that if a song gets stuck in your head the best way to stop it is to listen to it as you don't generally know all the words so make up some bits. When you listen to it you find out how wrong you were and then it usually stops being in your head

for the past 3 months ive had that jungle song off Father Ted stuck in my brain. The one that goes "Limb by limb we have to cut them down" and "Shimmy mimmy mimmy..." loads.

              Fucking Dreadful.

Today i managaed to get the libs song with the lyric"if you've lost faith in love and music then the end will not be long" stuck in my head just by reading the lyric on a wall, and it was the only lyric i could remember. Damn catchy memorable lines, it's a constant struggle not to burst embarrassingly into song...

i love having a song in my head. its like having my minidisc player but without the unpleasant bulge. i had the same bit of vice in my head for two days running and it was fun. whats worst is when it goes round in your head at night and you cant sleeeeep
