I'll remember that forever. Somebody took some pics and posted them on their board.
i can't really put into words how good last night was. It was very fitting that last night Arab Strap were the huge rock band that they never were. In front of what must have been one of the biggest crowds of their career (outwith festivals i guess) they were very much a band going out at the top.
Similar set to the other farewell shows, first big weekend was a fantastic hot sweaty balloon fest (see the pics), new birds and soaps were beautiful as always and the shy retirer, which over this tour has quickly become one of my favourite live songs, was a fitting farewell.
a few more pics:
Aidan said in an interview last week
"I would genuinely rather mean a lot to a little than a little to a lot"
which I think is fair to say was definitely the case for the strap.
I waited until Saturday to get mjy ticket. What a mistake, they were sold out :(
Hopefully the person who did go was deserving ie. a huge fan.
Those pictures look immense, thanks for posting them.
it looks like quite a big venue... when I saws them, I was literally three feet from aidan (yes, BE JEALOUS) so I didnt feel that taking photos in his face was appropriate. also he was ill :(
He's like a big teddy bear.
Also, the gig was very good, although i don't think any could compare to the final one.
Final doesn't sound nice :(
I didn't make that very clear :S
I REALLY want a setlist from that night, but no-one seems to have one.
i think they knew it off by heart as it was pretty much the same every night it seems.
venue is about 1200 capacity and it had been sold out for ages as far as i knew?
At first i was gutted it wasn't going to be at king tuts but having seen them play that size of venue quite often it was amazing to see them play, and fill, such a huge venue.
