for the "craziness".
And we wouldent have post rock without the delay pedal. Thank god for the delay pedal.
but I love my old boss me30, delay + ring modulator + expression pedal = the sound of the universe being torn apart
except I've always been too stupid and incompetent to work out how to use it.
simple? fucking great.
from Jesus Lizard to Electric Wizard mud on the turn of a knob.
RAT > DS-1
yes! All you need!
A Digitech Distortion Factory right now, but apart from one song where I use the Big Muff setting, I have it on the Ibanez Tubescreamer setting. However I will soon be getting a Digitech Hot Rod so I can mix it up a bit. Not that I really need to. But a bit of variation is always nice.
all guitars go silent.
and Big Muff
And boy is it good!
which is pretty cool.
is a well good pedal but sadly cant afford it yet.
I have a vestax digital delay and modulator that is amazing.
dd6 is also very good.
i just couldnt live without it.
makes everything sound massive
sounds like a crow being put to death.
All twee swedish indie poppers should be compelled to work one into their set.
Reverb/Digital Delay pedal
Ohhh yeah and I fucking love the flange. Shame there ain't none in this office !
I use two types at the same time with slightly different speeds for MASSIVE ECHOEY GOODNESS - I use a Boss DD6 and the delay built into my amp (a Marshall MDFX100H). Sounds mmmm yummy.
i need a new one, i've been using the old Zoom 508 one, which works fine and is very convenient with my presets, but sounds a bit naff, plus it is plastic, and made by Zoom.
which (pedel one) should i replace it with, i want a good spacey echo noise. also has anyone ever tried the marshall reflector reverb? i like the sound of the reverse setting.
DD6's are the shiznit.
For sheer utility, the Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor is amazing. For Delay, I love the original Memory Man and the Boss DD-20 As well as the original Boss Analogue Delay, the DA-2. For distortion, nothing beats the Rat, as it's so versatile. Then there's the wierd and wacky modulation effects like the pigtronix EP-1 that is an amazing Phaser/Envelope Filter, the Worm from EH, the Flanger Hoax USA from EH and the Frequency Analyser from EH. then there's the Space Station which is lovely, and the classic Wah after a small modification.
My I love effects.
a Vox one, just like Jimi used.
King Tubby had liek, a billion of them.
what are the alternatives to a digitech space station? They are so rare and expensive now!
as is my russian bug muff.
£30 well spent.
4 head tape delay and looping pedal.
Old school 1980s Russian EH Bigmuff is so PHAT, no other distortion pedal can touch it.
a distortion pedal for GCSE electronics. Technically its a rubbish effects distortion pedal but makes the best 'howling' noise. Thurston would love it
Distortion/Phaser on guitar
EQ can be pretty effective on bass. Ive always been told that effects shouldnt be used on bass but I do love plugging it into my distortion pedal. It can make some cool sounds.
it's good, but I can never make it sound anything other than dirty.
also my whammy 4 loses so much tone, that i get really really put off using it.
how easy was it to make?
i'm quite interested in making myself a pedal.
if the horrors can do it then so can i.
on a bass, makes the lower-end growl like something you should be scared of and the high-end sound like scuzzy guitar. love it. love it. love it.
wanna try an e-bow on a bass, anyone tried?
Boss bass over drive. Nice. Hooked up with a rat you can get some tasty feedback.
a pre Tube Screamer Ibanez overdrive. Orange metal case, the Ibanez logo written in the old swirly writing and I've never heard anything like it. Lent it to one mate who spraypainted it black without my permission and he lent it to another mate who promptly lost it and felt he had no need to replace it :/
boss ds1 > dancelectro reel tape echo > boss rv5 > beringher oc1 > boss ps3 > boss obd3 all of those combined are my favourite!!
What is it with friends who feel they can just treat equipment like... anything?
I once watched, open mouthed, as a 'friend' of mine straight up penalty kicked the Big Muff I lent him at a gig. I guess he thought it was Rock n Roll.
Several people had to stop me going rock and roll on his nuts, I'll tell you whut.
Never even attempted to make it up to me either. He was that kinda guy...
Of course, by then, I had my Boss ME-50. If I hadn't, he'd be dead by now.
And my favourite effect would have to be... at the moment... the saw wave filter. Gotta love those filthy robotic bass lines. And combined with a bit of Wah, you get a cool approximation of the Calm Like A Bomb sound.
and kick an FX pedal in his face
are built to take a few knocks (as all distortions should) but booting it for the hell of it sound MENTAL!! What a nob.
my pedal board seems to hold endless amusement for my band mates but i say..."3 delays does not equal a Flux Capasitor!!"......although.....
Gots me a Boss RV-5, it's a beaut!
If you play slowly enough and with enough reverb you sound like you really know what you're doing!
