i can't stop listening to that song 'mercy' on their myspace page.
it's SO good.
For me, their "rock" stuff never quite rocked enough...but I became addicted to that acoustic song on their second album; "and I'm aching".
Is this not on Howl then??? I want it.
But when I hear acoustic, something inside me wants either sugary pop or bitter laments...I didn't really dig the "stomping" acoustic...I just think it would stomp more with an electric guitar...Can Anyone send me 'Mercy'...I'll make an impossible promise in return? I'LL GIVE YOU A MILLION POUNDSetc.
if you send it to me.
it's not on any of the albums and i want it so bad!
Think you've painted us into a corner there...
(the same name)
send me somehow. msn? i dunno!
but i'm milking it for all it's worth right now. i'm 'feeling it' as it were.
i just like that whole vibe.
Canna figure why DiS(-ers) don't like 'em. Their live show was kinda boring, I'll admit, but methinks s/t debut and Howl are ace.
generally don't like all that BJM style psych stuff. shame really, i love it so so much right now. it's forced me to pick up a guitar and start writing songs. even though i'm a drummer by trade.
I saw BJM at the Troubadour (in LA) without knowing their history (or is that Histrionics? hehe!) and lemme tell ya, whasshizname? uhm, Anton is a piece of work. Just like in Dig, he starts in with the crowd, taunting them and I think in the end he starting fighting with his equipment...hehe!...the guy has a Jesus complex, but he aint that good, not nearly as good as he thinks he is anyway. But it was entertaining, I'll say that! :-)
s/t and 'howl' are good but a little unchallenging.
'devils waitin' all the time, i love that song.
that is all
...well those of your laying into their live show/Mercy's goodness over time. They are superb live, especially the more acoustic stuff of Howl. You'd also be hard pushed to find a better live song than Whatever happened to my rock n roll...truly super. I can maybe appreciate thet they're a real fans band live, i.e. they'lot just wheel out their 'hits' for the uninformed, but then that's fine by me, it means you get to hear the real gems like 'Open Invitation' and their Bob Dylan cover.
Furthermore, Mercy can be found on the very ltd edition 'Howl Sessions' release which was avilable from their website and nowhere else (although i'm sure a few popped up on ebay), it's 6 tracks which apprently didn't make it onto Howl, although Mercy clearly should have done.
They're hopefully tourng next year, probably in small venues like last time, which makes them doubly super.
