Take It Or Leave It
& hard to explain. reptilia is a close third....
or New York City Cops
Although NYC cops and barely legal push hard on that one...
but the single version because it was faster and better. Or maybe Hard To Explain.
I think. But when I'm drunk, Last Nite. But only when I'm really, really drunk.
I still think Room On Fire is their best album.
or Coney Island Steeplechase
The Modern Age
Also, the video for it is ace.
Album version was shit.
New York City Cops.
So saying the album version's shit would mean you don't really like the 7" version much either, in which case you can't like any strokes song as you've put that one down as your favourite. AND it sounds a little pretentious.
Oh, oh... What ever happened?
or Hard to Explain
I Can't Win, I really like.
And the song with the lyrics "Fear Of Sleep" - that may also be the song title... Anyway, I've heard it on the Science of Sleep trailer and it sounds pretty nice.
The Strokes were just really, really fortunate with the timing of their first album. If Is This It was released now it wouldn't get a tenth of the attention it did in 2001. The following albums don't get revered as much because there is a lot of similar/better stuff around of the same ilk
They didn't suddenly become a bad band. Both Room On Fire and First Impressions... are solid albums, it's just that they get compared to their undoubtedly seminal debut
I sound like a bit of a cunt
