I was so looking forward to seeing him.
Oh well A Hawk and a Hacksaw are equally awesome.
Jeremy and Heather are onstage playing, and a minute ago Heather was duetting on violin with one of the Beirut chaps playing cello. It's stunningly beautiful. Whatever happens tonight, it's going to be lovely.
What this time?! And the Luminaire want to keep our money if we turn up for the support? Cheeky fugwits!
It's not a Luminaire show, it's an Eat Your Own Ears show so we don't keep any ticket money. A full refund is being offered at point of purchase and we're being as upfront as we can with information.
Not sure what else we can do...
Sorry - I may have seemed a trifle abusive, there!
In keeping with upfront-ness, though, am I right in saying the show, such as it is, is NOT free tonight?
There's no cash door - all presold tickets - and it's still likely to be packed because word won't have got out in time. There's also no news on a rescheduled show so we can't tell people that their tickets are valid for another performance because we don't have any news on this, whereas last night, with Lisa Germano, we did before doors opened.
Thanks for filling me in - and putting me straight. I flew off the hook a little back there, mainly because I have been gloating with my friends in Tyneside who only got a single tune of Beirut recently, only now to be deprived of this. I guess what I ALSO ought to have considered is that Zach presumably has very good reasons for pulling out, too.
<Tail between legs>
We're assuming - from what those close to Zach are saying - that it wasn't a light decision. We know he'd been here before to see another show and we know he was very much looking forward to playing tonight.
Wasn't it? It might even have been better than a proper Beirut set.
considering their support slot with calexico, beirut would have completely owned
