I've been thinking about this and I've decided - at the end of the day, its 4 or 5 people putting across little more than their opinion on 66 albums they like and think other people would like. This is fine - this is why I myself write for a music website - in the hope that other people might read what I'm writing and go out and listen to a good band (or in a few cases, the opposite).
For complete lack of anything else to do, i've just compiled a top 66 more or less off the top of my head, and it was pretty difficult. 40 or so were straight down on the page, but the rest took a bit of thinking about ... and to be honest, some of the ones near the end aren't great albums, good but not great, and thats exactly the same with this DiS list. Some of the lower entries are laughable, and there are a hell of a lot of omissions of fantastic albums.
But I suppose the aim has been acheived - I'm gonna seek out and listen to a couple of the albums on the DiS list, and I suppose many others will too. Hopefully I will find an album I will love.
But you have to remember - this is by no means a definitive list. There are only 11 of the same bands on my list and the DiS list, and even then the albums are different in a couple of cases! I'm sure there are many more albums too on neither list that I'm just totally ignorant to that someone out there would put on theirs.
So... I propose ... everyone do their 66!
