...come on, then: who's at one?
Who's at four, for that matter?
Bloc Party will be number 1.
sufjan - illinois
bloc party - silent alarm
isis - oceanic
bjork - vespertine
atdi - relationship of command
flaming lips - yoshimi
not sure what the order will be though.
At the drive in - Relationship of command
Bloc Party - Silent alarm
Mogwai - Rock action
Forward Russia - Give me a wall
Don Caballero - american don
Sweep the leg johnny - Sto Cazzo
i was thinking what i thought should be o the list, and i realised a lot of them probably wont be.
Million Dead (either)
Oceansize - Effloresce
albums that are DEFFO in the top 6:
sufjan, atd-i, isis
should be: bloc party, million dead, oceansize :(
forward russia, the bronx (I)
Q +not U, Lightning Bolt, Mclusky TCTC... the list goes on!
its a fucking great album. People who say otherwise are wrong on every level
Miss Black America - "God Bless..."
Isis - "Oceanic"
..are two that I would bet my testicles on being in the top six.
no one above this has got a single album correct.
THATS JUS WRRONNG
if atd-i and isis aren't in the top 6 i will EAT MY OWN FACE
(Disclaimer: toby will not ACTUALLY eat his own face, as he just realise this might hurt. a bit)
all the inexplicable fans of girls aloud on here, i would not be surprised to see them in the list. sickened yes, but not surprised.
mainly cos everyone who has ever set foot in the DiS offices is a massive homosexual
so if not Vespertine, Homogenic?
Homogenic was released more than six years ago. I'm stuck then.
they're so mediocre.
I'd like to see Yankee Hotel Foxtrot at 1 but I doubt it'll happen.
madonna released oct 19th 1999
If not, I think that'll be in there.
so - no
I thought I'd won then.
is what i'd like to see, but if that and oceanic (which will be there) are both in the top 6, this indie website will riot.
Silent Alarm is an awesome album.
2 metal (ish) albums? In the top 6?!
*smashes computer screen with forehead*
there it would be the most ridiculous list in the world
I'm resolved to Dillinger Escape Plan not getting any kind of mention, so Effloresce would be a nice consolation prize.
But it won't be there either.
HAVE to be in there. Crablin had actually spent his entire life in a Dire Straits-induced coma until the day 'One-Armed Scissor' came wafting through the hospital window from a passing tramp's transistor radio: ABSOLUTE FACT.
If 'God Bless...' is in any Top Ten, I'll eat my own arse. And my arse is rancid.
anyone LEAKING the top six will be executed.
Hehe would be nice to see TCTC yeah!
given the quality of the competion
as Sean basically says as much in the comments on part 3.
Beyond that though, I don't know. A lot of the albums I thought would be there have already appeared in earlier bits. Isis seems like a reasonable guess given the love the DiS staff seem to have for them.
we actually hate music.
...seriously... I can't stand up.
Maybe I should. And go the hell home...
im guessing its Oceanic then on how much you love it? if so you better have mentioned the false light riff
wilco - hotel foxtrot yankee
elliott smith - either/or
ati - relationship
....should be in the top 3. they'd be in mine
death cab for cutie - transatlanticism
modest mouse - good news...
but i dont think they'll be there.
is the general lack of any old folks, cos it makes the criticisms about it just being hip stuff seem more true. nothing on the list from waits, dylan, cohen, young, cash, bunyan, walker, bowie, bjork!!, lucinda williams, tobin, strummer, oldham, cave, brian wilson, loretta lynn, kate bush, eels (i appreciate some of those arent SO old but you get the idea)
the oldest might be pj harvey? but i guess its OUR 66 rather than a TOP 66...
i'm hoping you'll at least have some bjork in the top 5 to allay my fears...
and by the way, 65dos session on my blog if anyone wants it
Its an album list of the last few years. Its not an all time list.
you annoying person. all of those acts have released very good albums since 2000, some of them have released AMAZING albums since then, certainly tons better than some of the stuff on the list in my opinion.
xo was released in 1998..
I thought elliott smith "happened" 3 years later than he did.
I guess I "missed" him
There's only been (the admittedly excellent) isolee so far... it's all a bit indie-rock isn't it.
I sound like i've been munching disco biccies!
BJORK. if there is no bjork i will personally come down to london and stab ALL of you in the FACE
Elliot Smith hopefully
dunno apart from that, i hope it's not Bloc Party. Hello Mediocrity!
your current profile facial expression whilst you do the stabbing. now THAT would be a youtube video. especially if we roped bjork in to sing over the top live whilst sat on robert wyatt's lap.
kid A / relationship of command
A song to ruin.
until i ruined it.
Autolux, The National, British Sea Power, Spoon, Built to Spill, The Kills, Band of Horses all shoulda been included!
Heck, the new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, too.
James Blunt will probably will again. BTW, is Blunt retarded? He's got that far-away - double digit IQ - look about him.
That Bloc Party album will probably be in there though god knows why. For standard indie-schmindie the Maximo Park record is better than Silent Alarm. No way Oceansize or ATD-I. And Isis sorta sucks. So I dunno who's gonna be there. Out of my picks, The National might make the cut.
how could i forget that these should have been included. all of them
Universal Truths And Cycles
Half Smiles Of The Decomposed
COULD you! GOSH!
replace some of the average bumf on that list (guillemots) with even the leastest gbv record.
BUT, GBV > bloc party.
arsing bloc party, how i vaguely dislike them.
record is a real mess. too much overarranged noodling, not enough pop magic. bloc party deserve to be in there but maybe in the high 50s or 60s...
so far are The Strokes and the White Stripes. They had big albums recently.
White Stripes...hmm. Kind of hope not.
Please let Wilco in. I know Sufjan's on there, but YHF really deserves an entry. Willing to bet, given the amount of times they're mentioned on this thread, that if Bloc Party were on the list they aren't now.
IT'S A TRAVESTY.
relationship of command. blates.
misty's big adventure and their place in the solar hi-fi system
bearsuit - team ping pong
eels - souljacker
part chimp - i am come
the decline of british sea power
this bit of the list feels like i'm trying to play family fortunes
q and not u
at no. 1.
Now I've made the words on the top half of the screen go massive and the bottom half has disappeared!
Then you get the bottom half!
NO! DON'T PRESS BLUE! IT TAKES YOU SOMEWHERE THAT IS NO WAY LINKED TO THE PAGE YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON! WHAT THE HELL IS THE FTSE 100!
