Tonight I think I'm going to see them. Are they good? Will I like them?
and yes you will.
they're absolutely dire.
But I find them a bit fustrating, I like them about 20% of the time, some bits are good, but then the rest of it just leaves me cold.
I tried to like them, but I've given up now. :(
maybe dire was a bit harsh but I really don't like them. Still, loads of people seem to love them so they must be doing something right.
They've been underwhelming every time I've seen them. And not just in a "that was a bit boring" way, but in a "why is the bassist and one of the guitarists out of tune?" kind of way.
And yet, I listen to this band all the time.
And yet YET, if anyone were to ask me if I liked them, I would deny it. Jealousy, you see.
I'm going with no expectations - just going as it's something to do.
The flyer said post rock/indie rock, which is what I likes. Is this an accurate description?
They are indie-rock/post-rock in the sense that sometimes they'll have lots of delay and sometimes they don't.
There's also a discrepancy in the rhythm section whereby the drummer is quite tasty, yet the bassist is useless. In that sense they are prog-rock/indie-rock.
that was a while ago though, and their new songs are (probably) awesome live, so i would go see them if i had the chance (which i do - i should probably go see them!)
and they were dead good. and it was the only stage in the whole place that wasn't totally rammed which was a bonus. and the compere woman couldnt get their name right at all. anyway, they are good i think
they havent played down here in ages, and were great at reading this year.
tired irie, shock!shock!horror and caesura shoudl all be pretty good too!
do you think it'll be sold out? I don't have a ticket you see
really great, in a making me grin lots way. I was really gutted to see that the Birmingham tour date at the Flapper has dropped of the schedule.
Amazing band, make me want to give up music on many occations...
and refues to call them youthmovies
