This week I have discovered, after finally listening to their entire discography, that The Divine Comedy are actually a really really good band. I have no idea why it took me so long when they meet the same criteria as a lot of other stuff i like (mozza, scott walker, pulp). silly me. you?

TV on the Radio
ignored them for ages and just heard some and they are really quite good but is it wrong that I like them more because they are black instead of skinny white boys?
but the thing is
if they weren't black they wouldn't sound like they do, because their voices are so clearly african american, so it's almost okay to say you like them because they're black. because if they weren't black they would sound like whiney whities. you get me?
yes

Relayer by Yes
I've had it for ages, but been put off by the long opening track. Finally I listen to it, and WOW. See other thread...
:)
In/Casino/Out
I finally bothered/got round to buying it today. It's really....reallly good. :D
Cat Power
Every song of hers sounds so warm and lovely. I'm gutted that I'm only just realising this
The Doobie Brothers
great stuff, and smooth to boot.
Cultural Ice Age
No joke. I went on their Myspace earlier this week.
LOTS OF DISCOVERIES
I discovered lots of things I liked on the Godsinthetv fanzine compilation CD.
Like theSwear but I think they've split...
And Gifthorse who sing about wanting to be touched somewhere just south of the equator.
Everything on there really, except Penny Broadhurst.
She's shite, and on there first. You've been warned.
x
As for me,
I discovered Klaxons and Enter Shikari.
Only thing is, because NME wants to Cleveland Steamer all over Klaxons' collective chests, I feel they might get over-hyped :(
The Oxford Collapse/Boards of Canada
I like The Divine Comedy--and not just because of their reference to Dante.
Gin Soaked Boy is a great song
This week
I have discovered a band called Ours... the guy's voice is absoloutely amazing...
Ah yes
The Godisinthetv fanzine compilation CD, or 'GIITCD' as some would have it.
What better introduction to some cracking new bands, and a few that are sadly pushing up the daisies.
Not that I've a vested interest. Oh no.
haha time for a plug
It can be bought here:

Great post-rock !
The Lucksmiths
Bought Warmer Corners for £3 after it being in the top 66-tis really great
This week I have been mostly listening to
Snowy Red.
Last week
I bought 'Pink Flag' and 'Chairs missing' by Wire, a band I'd heard of but never heard. All I can say is WOW!
Those two records are amazing. 'Pink Flag' sounds like the Ramones but BETTER and 'Chairs Missing' could easily become one of my favourite records of all time. Need to get '154' pretty sharpish.
I also recently bought 'English Settlement' and 'Skylarking' by XTC. What a great pair of pop records there...more classics.
jolie holland
i'd always quite liked her, but i've been listening to escondida a lot recently...it's proper lush. apparently tom waits likes her, which should be proof enough that she's ace.
she was very good
at the ryan adams bush hall gig.
i was listening
to skylarking today, it's so so so so so so so so so good.
it's not this week any more.
SO SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH.
