Non-sad songs that are so good you almost want to cry

Jesus_Quintana [Edit] [Delete] 35 replies 11:52, 18 October '06

Common People

It is impossible to overplay it

From about that point about 1 and a half minutes in I get shivers and always want to shout "FUCK YESSSS" at the top of my voice and dance and sex and cry and would happily die right then

    • Pagan Poetry

by Bjork. It's like someone who's finally found their true meaning in life.

    • Range Life by Pavement

and i second Pagan Poetry and Sleep The Clock Around.

Also Piazza, New York Catcher by Belle and Sebastian

      • I love Range Life and Piazza, New York Catcher

        Good work.

        colonol_k @RockNRollMassacre | 18 Oct '06, 13:02 | X
      • yeah definitely Range Life

it shouldn't be sad at all, but it gets me, especially the "don't worry, we're in no hurry, school's out, what did you expect" bit for some reason. The thing with Pavement was that despite all their lyrical cleverness and irony they had an ability to pull some really wrenching passages out from seemingly nothing.

        OceanStorm @RockNRollMassacre | 18 Oct '06, 13:54 | X
        • I'll add that too.

I love Range Life, it's always been one of those "I'm tired of this, I'm going to live the simple life" type songs, a bit like no surprises- the mood is just utterly perfect.

        colonol_k @Thom_fa | 18 Oct '06, 14:07 | X
        • I just got goosebumps thinking about it

      nice_squirrel | 18 Oct '06, 14:10 | X
      • Aktuelly I'll add another one

based on Bonnie Prince Billy: I See A Darkness the first time he sings 'do you know how much I love you?'

        Liek, woah.
